@nebylicza for me, a treatment typically consists of 4 weekly preparatory talk therapy sessions that are aimed at setting intentions, expectations, some meditative practice to help with inner focus, strategies to help deal with difficult things. These sessions are done sometimes as a group, which is helpful when a number of people in the group share common conditions, but I've also had individual sessions where the one on one time has been beneficial. In both cases, a qualified and experienced therapist makes a difference.
Following those is the actual psilocybin session. In the therapy model I've found most helpful, that is a high dose (5 grams of mushrooms in a glass of orange juice, or 25mg of pure or extracted psilocybin provided by a licensed producer) I have experienced all of these with decent results, but I do have a preference for either the natural mushroom or the whole mushroom extract because there is certainly an entourage effect with the additional compounds present over pure synthetic psilocybin only.
A dose that size usually lasts 5-7 hours for me, and I spend that time wearing a good blindfold and wearing headphones listening to instrumental music. This is an introspective process, and I find it really helps to shut out the distractions of the outside world while I'm journeying. This is a psychedelic experience, so you should expect to see colors in patterns, experience sensations, and emotions. It is a little different for everyone. You may experience very real dreamlike states, or just feel like you are floating freely in the universe. It helps to be open to whatever the experience is, and to be willing to explore any challenging spots you may encounter. A lot of good progress can be found in those challenging bits, that's where our problems live.
After the medicine session, I usually also have A number of weekly integration therapy sessions to talk about the experience, and incorporate the lessons and "aha moments" from the sit. Those can show up after even a couple months, but I've never had a session where I have not received some sort of different perspective that I've found helpful.
The integration sessions are really important for a more lasting effect.
I hope that helps give you an idea about what is involved.
