  2.  @vnewen2157  The US putting tariffs on Australian goods means the American consumer pays that much extra, for Australian imports. In this case, 10%. So it's Americans that will pay it, not us. The flip side is, higher prices may lead to them buying less from us, which hurts our exporters. The scary part is the effect it's having on the stock markets. Trump has so far, in 2 months, caused the biggest stock market crash in history.

  4.  @UbFunks  Tariffs are designed to protect local markets. Trump is using them as a tool, which is crashing the stock markets. Let him, I say, we don't pay them, his voters do. They could throw the Republican party out in the 2026 midterms, and impeach him for some of his many breaches of the constitution, this just makes that scenario more likely
