  1. Seeing that splined stud extractor snap off in the stud reminded me why I never use easy outs. Left hand drill bits all the way, drill until either the stud winds out of the hole becomes the right size to run a tap through. In this case I reckon persistence with a right hand bit may have wound the studs out the top. Always easy from the armchair though ;) Good job Ray

  2. That's the curse of being a mechanic. You SHOULD charge for every minute, but if you did, the customer would accuse you of ripping them off. When it comes to cars, everyone is either an "Expert" or knows someone who is an "Expert"

  4. Yep, as mechanics we've all been there, it's much nicer watching someone else do it than being in that situation ourselves ;)

  5. They tend to break off inside the stud, and cause even mor problems. At least in my experience
