  1.  @amazoidal  They kept things simple and effective. It's easy to get over 1000 hp out of a fairly conservative build. My 6 litre L77 has a stock 360 hp and gets 9.4 litres per 100 km on a run. Not sure why you think they need DOHC multivalve BS.....

  2.  @amazoidal  Ah, you mean the Shelby that's built for 760 HP against the Camaro that's built for 650 HP? In the comparison where the Camaro beats the Shelby to 60mph, and dead heats it on a quarter mile? Pointless argument, really. If you wanted sustained top end HP, for running on a high banked oval or something, and you aren't restricted by RPM, then sure, look at DOHC engines, but if you want something that's driveable, and has a useable torque curve, you are better off with the "Dinosaur" engine. There's a good reason LS engines get swapped into so many other vehicles, over Coyotes

  3. The LS is proof that just because something doesn't have all the bells and whistles, it can still do the job it's designed to do, and it does it very well.

  8. Oh, and I get that the valve springs may need to be slightly stiffer in the pushrod engine, but 2-3 times? I’ve never built a Coyote but I do find that a bit hard to believe, without any figures to back it up....

  9.  @pryme2013  Nice problem to have, although I don't get why this engine needs balance shafts. Literally millions of 4 cylinder engines around that run just fine without them
