Ex Military here, I wouldn't have agreed to that 6 months ago, but it's become painfully obvious that America needs bases here more than we need them, at the moment, because trump won't lift a finger to help us, if it was needed. Being an American ally only makes us a bigger target right now. We'd be better off looking at Europe/NATO than trusting the US, for ANYTHING

  12. @ Who's right? Not much info in that comment....For the record, IDGAF what sort of tariff he puts on Australian aluminium. He can put 500% on it if he wants to. It won't affect me, 1 iota. It will be the American customers who pay it. And I like that idea. I hope he puts tariffs on everything and the average American goes broke, as a result. Only then will they wake up to what they voted for.

  18. @ You're assuming America can actually make all the stuff that China currently makes. In a lot of cases, they can't, and even if they could, they would never be able to match Chinese pricing. Economists figured out trade wars are bad, back in the 1920's, trump thinks he knows better, but he doesn't.
