@FarnsworthBiggen China now know that the US won't lift a finger to help Australia. Continuing to be an ally of theirs, knowing they won't back us up (Unless there's some sort of personal gain in it, for trump), just makes us a target to them. We need to source new allies, as does the rest of the world. Trump doesn't want anyone relying on the US for support, so give him what he wants. At least until they can put an adult back in charge

@marlenede-abel1336 The whole reason we were being allowed US sub technology was so we could help America patrol the disputed South China Sea. Again, it benefited America more than us. Given America's current regime, we should distance ourselves from them and not get involved in their conflicts. Just my opinion.

@sonjakozman1699 We need protection by the US because we are up their arse. If we ditch ties with them we are suddenly a smaller target. We've lost people in every war they have started, that we needn't have. They won't help us now, trump's made that abundantly clear. We need to form new military alliances and, shock horror, may have to up our defence spending a bit, to look after ourselves

@LeonCutajar People carrying guns won't protect Australia against long range missiles or drones....And look at the shootings in America. We don't want to go down that path
