@davidg1838 We are looking after ourselves, by paying medicare levies in our taxes. It's the same theory as private insurance. So having medical expenses paid IS a right, because we are all paying for it

@davidg1838 So, you're unhappy to be forced to pay Medicare, but don't think it's your right to use it if you need it? It's basically compulsory health insurance, yes, but if we didn't have it, we would have a lot more sick unemployed people that would still be a financial drain on the taxpayer. No system is perfect, but the system we have is still one of the best in the world, and way better than the US system
