Yeah, Dick Johnson was great on in-car, had some of the best one-liners ever

@jackmarstaeller7663 Both those cars were owned by him and both times the number 2 car was further back in the field, so those victories were even more impressive I think. In 1987 the number 10 car that he drove to victory was made up out of spare parts and only even entered to fulfil a contractual obligation, they didn't even expect it to finish the race, let alone win it

It was done to bring the track up to FIA specs for the World touring car Championship round in 1987, they didn't allow a straight to be longer than 1.2 m

I grew up as a Brock fan, and he was a legend, but in hindsight, an even bigger legend was Larry Perkins. He built all his own cars, and won Bathurst from last place back in 1995. There's also a great video of him in the wet at Bathurst in 1994

The engine in that car was an Aussie built 5 litre V8 (304 ci) that used a 4 barrel Rochester Quadrajet carby. Australia only went to Group A in 1985, and they lost a lot of engine freedoms, this engine was surprisingly stock, compared to the Group C engines that they used up until 1984. Peter Williamson was the first driver to have racecam in his car, a Toyota Celica, back in 1979. He was allowed to remove the front passenger's seat to fit the camera in, it was that big :D The best looking cars of all time in my opinion were the 05 and 25 cars of Brock and John Harvey, in 1984
