  1. I think the technology is already here for autonomous cars. We have a new Subaru work car, you can literally set cruise control and it drives itself. It stays in the middle of the lane you're in and follows curves in the road. You can literally take your hands and feet off the controls and let it do its own thing, once you're on a highway. It does start beeping at you after a short while, and flashing warnings to put your hands back on the wheel. Whether or not we will ever end up with cars that just drive themselves, with no human in charge, I don't know. I think they will always be designed to have a driver in charge. Not that human drivers are always better than computer ones, if I'm honest ;)
