The fact that McDonald's Mcafe does really well here, and so does Gloria Jean's, suggests to me that Starbuck's is just overpriced crap ;) I agree with you too, that tourists don't all want a "Familiar face". Half the fun of travelling is to experience the way of life in the country you're in, imo
