  1. Less turbulent air over the top of the tyres was what I was led to believe the reason behind it was. They wanted smaller front wheels, for less aero drag, but the 2 smaller ones didn't have the footprint, so they went 4. Not to mention, the brakes needed to be smaller also, so again, 4 instead of 2
