  1. I used to own a HQ SS, similar to the Monaro but it was based of the Belmont, which was the "No frills" option. It was a 253 4 speed. Wish I'd kept it. The 253/308 were Aussie made engines, and sound really good imo. All those old 1970's cars were prone to rust but I don't think anywhere near as bad as in the states. I believe they use salt on the roads over there? That wouldn't help...
