@x_quinn_x9179 Sucks if you want to top up your tank but don't know how much it's gonna take

@The Aussie Family Only in public service, not private...

@geoffb.6154 Not so much OCD, more LOGICAL order. Like counting to 4, by saying 1234, and not 1324.....

@shanedorival3177 You'd be very much in the minority if that is the case, unless you're on a salary. We do a 38 hour week where I work, too, the other guys work longer hours than me, but get the RDO (They get a 9 day fortnight). I started after them and don't have the RDO option, but I work a shorter day than them. We're all paid the same hourly rate, all earn the same money, and all average out the same hours

@JohnDoe-fp1tv RDO's don't really count, they are factored into the hours you work

They try really hard to get us in Australia to call soccer "Football" but I'm not buying it! the sales tax thing, I'd rate that the same as tipping - The price displayed is what you pay, here. The other 2 American things I can't get my head around are the word "Y'all", when talking to a single person, and the term "I could care less", which implies that you actually do care.

Your RDO's would be from working extra hours though I'm sure? We have an RDO system where I work, too, but I'm not on it, so I work a shorter day than the others. The hours are the same over a month, and so are the pays
1
@liandren I've been on both systems, people tend to get confused by it, but you don't get paid for a 38 hour week without averaging 38 hours of actual work per week, over a month. Check your hourly rate, your total hours worked over a month and your gross pay over a month. I think you'll be surprised
1
@liandren so you work 72 hours and get paid for 72 hours
1
@liandren If they are paying you for more hours than you work, I want a job there ;)

@Bill Doe So how do I know what to set it to, when my tank is half full and I want to completely fill it? We have pre-set buttons here too, but they are useless unless you know exactly how much it's gonna cost before you even start pumping....
1
@Bill Doe Ah, OK, I didn't realise that's how it works. We don't have many sites here that have a pre-pay option at the pump, only some places that make you go into the shop, pay up front, then put the fuel in, but that's usually only after a certain time at night. I think servos (Gas stations) here rely too much on people buying extra stuff inside the shop to have people pay at the pump
