So here's another point to ponder - if Trump had returned the documents he had, after the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or maybe even the 4th time NARA requested he do it, he wouldn't even be facing charges over them. Not only did he refuse to return them, fighting (And losing) in court to keep them, pretending to return them, even having his lawyer sign a declaration that they had all been returned when they in fact hadn't, he also had his aide COPY them. Meanwhile, both Biden and Pence returned documents (That they were both likely using in the line of their official duties) on their own free will. The difference between those cases is kind of like you accidentally taking the petty cash tin home from work and returning it the next day, vs me opening the safe, ordering my minions to take out all the money, loading it into a truck and taking it to my house and hiding it in my basement
