  1. He can just say "I heard the sound of something and then I was hit in the ear by something. I think it was a bullet". But the medical records could show it wasn't. I don't know if the FBI could request those though?

  2. If he had said "I was shot at and a piece of shrapnel hit my ear", it wouldn't have even made him look bad. But insisting it was a bullet, and people finding out it wasn't, just makes him look stupid...StupidER ;)
