  3. Flying into Chicago from Mexico to get to Alabama? I wonder if this gentleman knew that he could have flown into Hartsfield-Jackson airport in Atlanta and only had a 2-hour commute to Birmingham? Regardless of cost, that seems like the more sensible option to me.

  4. It happened to me one time in Buffalo. On exit 9 of the 190, one set of lanes takes you to Canada, and the other takes you into a residential neighborhood on Buffalo's west side. One day, I became momentarily distracted and ended up unintentionally crossing the Peace Bridge because I got into the wrong lane. And you CAN'T turn around, not even if you go into the duty-free. The Canadian border cops were complete pricks, but once they were done and I got turned around, CBP on our side of the border were really cool and even somewhat sympathetic.

  5. Blue Water Bridge is in the eastern part of Michigan, in the town of Port Huron. About an hour's drive north from Detroit on Interstate 94, and about an hour's drive east from Flint via Interstate 69. I-69 actually terminates at the bridge.

  6. I'm from Pennsylvania. I can't recall the last time I bought clothing in New York (if ever), but here in PA we charge no sales tax on clothing items. A LOT of Ontario residents come to Erie and Grove City all the time to shop, and then stay the whole weekend to get out of paying duty. I believe if you're here 48 hours, you get an $800 exemption. I actually had a Canadian shopper tell me one time that he would have paid three times as much for the clothing he bought in Erie if he had bought it in Ontario.

  7. As an American who accidentally got on the Peace Bridge and went to Canada, trust me. Canadian border cops are MUCH worse than ours.
