Rob Wolchek has done more for the people of Michigan than 100 Gretchen Whitmers put together could ever do.

For a state where most of its history is based on the automobile, Michigan has some of the worst drivers I've ever seen in my life.

Go drive in Youngstown and tell me if you still think that. I think Flint has better roads than most of that city does. π

Wolchek for President 2024.
2
βΒ @peterdangelo5882Β so run for governor of Michigan, and make fixing the roads your top priority.
2
Every city and state needs a Rob Wolchek.
2
I'm deadass going to write him in when I go vote in November. I'm not kidding. π

In a business known for shady characters, Tim Clark is a unicorn. I wish nothing but happiness and good fortune to that man for what he did for this woman.

My wife and I took a day trip to Detroit from Pennsylvania last summer. I actually pulled over on I-75 to make sure I didn't have a flat tire, because my car was bouncing so bad from the road. Once I got into Ohio it was almost like driving on a cloud. π

βββββββΒ @Sassyfrazz19Β Ohio has ONE toll highway, a portion of interstates 80 and 90 running from Youngstown, bypassing Cleveland, then on to Toledo. And the money that one highway makes pays for that one highway and ONLY that one highway. And basically the only people who use it are long-haul truck drivers and people driving through that part of Ohio to and from other states. The majority of interstate traffic traveling to and from Ohio is on untolled I-70, which connects to several other freeways in the state that are also toll-free, thereby making it extremely easy to bypass the Ohio Turnpike.

ββΒ @rareview362Β you are correct. State parks in Ohio are free, as well as Presque Isle State Park along Lake Erie in Pennsylvania, which is only about a 4-hour drive from Detroit.

I live in Pennsylvania, and our roads are only slightly better than Michigan's and worse than Ohio's. The closer to Philly you are, that's where the roads are okay. Everywhere else, they're terrible. I can't tell you how many tires and ball joints I've replaced, or how much fun it was to replace my exhaust due to the stuff they use on the roads in the winter rotting it out. Of course, my theory is that due to our mandatory yearly vehicle inspections, it creates extra revenue for both the state as well as for dishonest mechanics who nitpick and find every little thing to fail you for at inspection time. And, as you may have guessed, Pennsylvania gets their inspection money whether you pass or fail. It's all a racket.

I don't care what political party Rob is. I would vote for him no matter what. The guy has gotten more done than any politician of any party I've ever seen.

As a Pennsylvanian, I love visiting Michigan and enjoy the scenery and the people there. But yes, your roads do unfortunately suck. π I will say this though. Youngstown is definitely an exception to the "Ohio has better roads" rule. I think the roads in Flint are actually better than most of the ones in that city.

There are tons of "John Killies" in Ohio, especially the eastern part of the state near Cleveland and Youngstown. These guys will get junk cars from the auction, or from Pennsylvania or West Virginia that didn't pass inspection for $200 or $300 or so from the original owners who don't want to sink the money into them to fix it and just want to get rid of them, take them to the car wash and detail the inside, and MAYBE change the oil. After putting maybe a grand total of $50 into the car they got for a couple hundred bucks in PA or WV, they'll turn around and sell it to some poor sucker in Ohio for $3,000 or more. Ohio has no annual vehicle inspections, and the only thing they do on cars coming in from out of state is run a VIN check on them. That's literally it.

How to win the lottery in Michigan: move to Wayne, Oakland, or Macomb counties.

You're not kidding. Driving through Michigan on I-75 outside Monroe once, I actually thought I had a flat tire. The car was bouncing, and the wheels on the pavement were VERY loud. Of course, once we crossed into Ohio, everything felt normal again and my fears were diminished. π

Gretchen Whitmer: repeatedly yells "Fix the damn roads!" Rob Wolchek: actually does it.
