  1. I'm from northwestern PA, born and raised. I love my home state. It's a beautiful place, there's a lot to see and do, and I'm proud to be from here. The fact that we have to share it with Philadelphia is, unfortunately, beyond my control. 😂

  2. That's good to know. My wife and I drove through Summersville on our way to Myrtle Beach from Pennsylvania last year, when we were on our honeymoon. I wondered why we saw so many cops hiding on the side of the road. 😂

  3. Dayton is a pretty rude place. But I've always found Cincinnati to be ruder. The difference is, the kind of rudeness in Cincinnati is the "fake nice" people who live there put on for visitors. I moved there from Pennsylvania years ago, and it was a different story. If you weren't born there, people simply just don't talk to you. Hell, they don't even talk to one another if they grew up on opposite ends of town. 😂

  4. As someone born and raised in Western Pennsylvania and who has been to the Motor City quite a few times in my life, I would have put Pittsburgh on the list before I ever considered Detroit. I've always found folks in Michigan to be fairly polite people.

  5. As someone who's been to Buffalo about 90,000 times in my life, the only complaint I've ever had about your city is that you guys can't drive. Other than that, I've always found the people to be welcoming and even at times pleasant.

  6. Aside from living in Ohio for 5 years, I was born and raised in northwest Pennsylvania and have basically been here my entire life. It has its ups and downs. For example, Erie isn't the best place to live, but it's in much better shape than most other comparable Rust Belt cities our size such as Flint and Youngstown. Erie has largely escaped the rampant abandonment and crime that plagued those cities (and still do) in the wake of deindustrialization. There's something for everyone here in Pennsylvania. If you love big-city living, you can move to Pittsburgh or Philly. However, if you ever want to get out of the city for the weekend, you can drive 2 hours and literally be in the middle of nowhere. And for those who want to live in the middle of nowhere, you have the whole stretch of Route 6 between Erie County and Scranton, where the deer outnumber the people. Same goes for the majority of I-80 across the entire state. Aside from Penn State University, there is literally NOTHING on I-80 between Youngstown, Ohio and Paterson, New Jersey. 😂

  8. I have to admit that I'm surprised that Pennsylvania didn't make the list. Pittsburgh, Philly, and Erie have some of the WORST drivers I have ever seen in my life.

  9. ​​​​​ @idrip2153 and Sidney Crosby owns Philly. 53 goals and 71 assists in 83 career games against the Flyers. Not to mention that he's won three Stanley Cups while the Flyers and their fans watched on television. The last time the Flyers won the Stanley Cup, Gerald Ford was president. Nevertheless, I'll always respect Flyers fans because of how well they've treated Mario Lemieux.

  10. I don't know if I would put Buffalo and Detroit on this list. I've been to both cities multiple times throughout my life, and I've always found people in both places to be fairly welcoming, and even at times pleasant. People in Buffalo can't drive for s*it, but that's really the only complaint I have about it. I really don't have any complaints about Detroit. I would have definitely put Pittsburgh and Cleveland in place of those two cities.

  11. ​ @giggitty08 you're not kidding. I lived in Lawrenceville 15 years ago and paid $450 a month for a one bedroom. The exact same apartment, on the exact same street, would probably go for well over $1,000 now.

I'm from Erie County, and the vast majority of people who move here come from other places within Pennsylvania, most notably the Pittsburgh area and the surrounding NWPA counties (Crawford and Warren). Not very many people move here from out-of-state, unless they come from the very small border towns in New York right across the state line.
