  1. Believe it or not, Erie today is actually one of the better Rust Belt cities. It hasn't gone completely to hell like Youngstown or Flint have. Those cities are too far gone to ever make a full "comeback". Compared to those places, Erie has a chance and has a lot of potential.

  2. Farrell is basically a mini Youngstown. There's really no other way to describe the place. Its fortunes rose and fell with the steel industry. There are still a lot of very decent-looking streets in Farrell though.

  3. If I was given the choice between a cardboard box in Florida and a free penthouse apartment for life in the most glamorous area of New York City, I'd take the cardboard box.
