@GhostofTrufflePast it’s not ignoring anything. This story isn’t ABOUT the “good things in the world” it’s about how America was colonized and committed genocide on an entire race of humans. It’s kind of hard to point out all the cute little facts ppl like when you’re discussing systemic murder and forced migration of over 90% of a race of people. History isn’t always good. The question isn’t why Johnny portrays this as negative, it’s why you’re so fragile that you can’t handle accepting the negative aspects of this country’s past - and there are a LOT of horrible things America has done to get to where we are today, which I’d also argue isn’t that freaking great. Perhaps people not spending hundreds of years thinking white people are better or more deserving of anything than anyone would have led to a slightly better world today instead of one so full of hate and rhetoric
