If he exerts force to an object that heavy, even just to "push it a bit" just to slow it down, the whole weight and momentum of the plane, will be in a small surface area. He would just punch through the hull. Superman carrying a whole ass plane is impossible with just super strength.

  2. Superman would definitely win in most sources. But this is not the basis. Both of them are strong enough to easily carry the plane. But they would just punch through the hull if they exert force to slow down or stop it's momentum. How are people this slow? It was explained in the very scene itself. The given reason as to why superman can push upwards an object this heavy without breaking it is because he has a telekinetic aura around him that allows him to do that.

And if you say he doesn't, then the superman comics doesn't use real world physics while this show does. You would need to apply a high amount of force to counteract the gravitational pull of a heavy falling object. So even if he just applies enough to stop the plane from falling, he would punch through the hull due to applying the force in a small surface area. Learn a little bit of physics if you can't understand.
