Fantasy =/= unrealistic, that is why worldbuilding is so important for fantasy writers and that is why they give time to establish facts in their world that are different or not present with the real one. They write a story that is believable and realistic according to the world they have established. For example in the OP's example, GOT's world never established something like army commanders having a magical aura that prevents their men from breaking (more than what is realistic in the real world) despite heavy casualties , nor did they say that corpses during a battle automatically pile up vertically enough to make a wall. Iirc the corpses were scattered all over the place before Ramsay's forces enclosed them in a shield.

In the men's side, one of their best players went home on the 2nd day because he couldn't handle the disagreement between him and the old man. They had problems at first making the fire. But the graphic designer came in clutch with those glasses trick he did. The women were better in making the fire cuz there was someone there who made it multiple times without using glasses. The problem they had was maintaining it because they were disorganized. No one tries to take the lead. This was not a problem in the men's camp. It was portrayed as affectionate to really show the deep connection they have for each other and also that they are doing something forbidden in the name of their love for each other. Sure you can just allude to it, but showing a few seconds of it makes it so much more impactful. It was shown in a kind of dark manner because Tommy Shelby was about to make a big decision for his crime family. If you remove them in search results and in suggested contents we will be silencing their voices in the art world and hinder them from succeeding. This law is almost comparable to the burning of books in medieval times. It helps those people WITHOUT ASPIRATIONS because it helps them avoid information that they can't handle mentally and thus corrupts their minds. but for people who have aspirations it limits available information and ability to be able to reach out to people and show their well-earned skills that will help them obtain success in the future. Banning TOOLS will not be a good solution in the long run. Do you actually think kids nowadays will go out and play sports once social media is banned? So if the putting scaling ladders is really a bad idea, why is it so commonly used for taking the walls? 2. If it is only used when they know the enemy won't resist, why do they have enemies in the walls in historical depictions? Were a lot of those done for heroic effect and to give the battle more of an epic story for those who will see it or was it simply just done some times? 3. When is it recommended to scale walls with ladders then? After filling the ditch, you still can't if you know the opposing force will resist? Can you not use it to overwhelm the defenses? While your battering ram breaks the gates, soldiers scale the wall. Because tehy can focus on your battering rams if you don't send others right? Or simply it wasnt done because it is a waste of soldiers? 4. When he was discussing the testudo, he says "you're stuck waiting for the enemies to stop firing". Didn't the romans used formations that made it easy to do testudo so that they can move through arrow fire, not sit there and wait for the enemies to stop firing? Wasn't the formation made for that very reason? Or does he mean that they should break the formation because they are close enough to just go into a melee? 5.
