@fitzstv8506 I know you are likely referring to the official language status and not history, but thought I'd share: Gaelic/celtic was introduced only between 1000bc and 500bc. There was likely two other waves of migration and languages spoken (Neolithic pre-indo-european, some other Indo-European language, and then common celtic [which later evolved into insular celtic and then split to form Goidelic and brythonic). It wasn't until old Irish evolved from such in the 4-6th century ad that the celtic mutations began occurring in words. Previously, it had been Endings similar to Latin or Greek.

Did I miss you talking about the other brythonic language—Pictish? The one that scots Gaelic pushed out of Scotland when those irish settlers conquered Scotland in the medieval period?
