Does australia still have a classic labour party as opposed to this neoliberal labour party of today? Classic labour that advocates for universal socialized housing similar to nhs in UK (no cost to user, paid via taxes)? Classic labour that advocates for the public ownership of the means of production? Classic labour that breaks with us foreign policy and become pacifist and demand all American forces leave? Labour hasn't been left since the 80s. They're neoliberal (global definition) and have many policies in common with the liberal party of the 90s.

@__Diagnosis Labour hard left? Really? When did this new labour advocate for universal socialized housing similar to nhs in UK (no cost to user, paid via taxes)? When did this new labour advocate for the public ownership of the means of production? When did they break with us foreign policy and become pacifist and demand all American forces leave? Labour hasn't been left since the 80s. They're neoliberal (global definition) and have many policies in common with the liberal party of the 90s.

Labour spokesperson chastises liberals for throwing fuss for not getting their way, but labour spokesperson also states they won't do a coalition (working with others in a meaningful way). Pot kettle black? Most democracies operate a coalition because a majority of people dont think the same way nor want the same things. Negotiations and compromise are the key to a functioning democracy.
