  1. The whole thing with Japanese prejudice towards Koreans (and vice versa) stem from the same source of how the Philippines can have prejudice towards Japan: WW2, with Japanese imperialism/colonization and the aftereffects from the end of the war. This has had a lasting effect that even influences current-day politics between these (and other) countries. And considering how these political struggles also directly affects the economy and policies of the western world, I'm dismayed with how little this side of the war has been covered in the western school systems.
