@Traumatised311 I'm sorry, but I'm legitimately confused as to why being asexual means you can't have kids. I mean, there are ways for ace's to have kids without sex, and even then, being asexual doesn't mean you can't have sex at all. You can still do it to get pregnant or get someone else pregnant; it's not like asexuality means you're infertile/sterile. I don't mean to offend. Just am confused.

True, I was so confused abt what sexual attraction was, like whether or not it just meant ppl had fetishes and this was a more socially acceptable way to view it.

@thereisnofinishline5773 eh, it depends on the person. It's why I'm upfront with them about it from the beginning. Then they can decide if it's fine with them or not. For me, it's just become one of those things to mention early in the relationship.

@aryore2411 Nah, that's cool. Thanks for your perspective. I could understand money issues, belief systems, and sex-repulsion, but bc the comment only makes a reference to asexuality, it confused me ^^;

@v.k.storytellers1031 That is ONE definition of asexual, yes. But vocabulary and language in general is not that stringent.

Lol. No worries. As an ace, I don't get that feeling about sex at all. This might help you understand: try taking your feelings of people you have no sexual attraction to whatsoever and apply that to everyone and that would probably be how I'd feel as an ace. As for the purpose of life comment above this one, it's still one of life's great mysteries, and asexuality (as a sexual orientation) exists even within the animal kingdom. There was a study done in the '90s that found asexuality among sheep (check out the US Sheep Experiment Station). Plus, the procreation answer doesn't explain why homosexuality exists and brings up debate on free will and instinct (if life's purpose is specifically to create more life, then how would people even have the choice to not have sex for the purpose of getting pregnant?). So, maybe procreation is not the real purpose of life? ¿¿¯\_(ツ)_/¯??

Well, it depends. Some do, like aces with sex drives might know how to please their bodies and may be able to work that in with a partner or have limited sexual attraction they can work with or aces who develop sexual attraction to their partner after developing feelings for them (the attraction stems from an emotional connection). Then some don't, like those who find the whole thing more like a chore instead (there might be something else, like satisfaction that it's done, but maybe not pleasure when actually doing it) or some might be completely turned off by it and can't develop a sense of pleasure with the act at all (not just being repulsed by sex, but even those who find sex to be sheer boredom or a needless waste of time and energy with no other positive feeling towards it).

Prende Boreas I actually got here because I'm a BTS fan (the last video b4 this one) and was stoked to find him interviewing 2 groups I identity with in consecutive videos 😅💜

As an ace who loves cake, I respect that.

I mean, it's softer than a wall. Maybe more like kissing a water balloon.
2
That's the biological definition dealing with asexual reproduction. This video is talking about a type of sexual orientation.
2
This is too true.

Well, it's not the opposite. The lgbt community is supposed to be made of those who are not both sexually and romantically hetero, which is the societal "norm" Asexuality is still a sexual orientation that denotes of the lack of sexual attraction to the opposite sex (and every other gender/sex), so it doesn't fit in with being heterosexual.

Ellie Fuller There has been a study on sheep that shows asexuality does exists even in the animal kingdom. But asexuality also isn't a big focus with scientific study (most focus on pro-sexual studies because of health purposes), so we don't see a lot of research about it being done either.

Oh, I hate when people do that.

That's impressive

Nah, he's good-looking, but that's it for me.

I believe asexuality is still ever evolving in definition because there's not a lot of agreed upon ideas of what constitutes what kind of asexuality, as it's pretty new as a concept. I think AVEN (online forum) is a pretty good ace community to look up more information and talk to people who might be feeling the same way. You're also free to search the forum to find if someone put a topic like this out there. The forum is public to read, but you'd either have to give an email (it'll be made anonymous) or make an account to post anything.
