This is the problem with World-History-as-told-by-western-society, they tend to completely downplay/overlook Asian histories to the point that they sometimes depict themselves as the "most historically tragic victims in history," while disregarding that every country had tragedies that are comparable or even worse. Not trying to negate tragedies, but just saying that slavery and colonization weren't only western problems.

  2. Why be mad about Winnie the Pooh, really? If someone likens you to him, just own it. Turn it into a positive. It should be easy; the bear is that adorable. (Can't guarantee that it'll stop all the justified ridicule, but people should be bound to move on if it's too ineffective).
