It's because she's being obviously manipulative. It's not that people are looking down on her for relying on a child, but that she even brought this up in the first place to use as a shield for herself that is problematic. If she really cared about those girls, she would've left them out of this whole mess as much as possible instead of forcing a bunch of kids to be publicly backed into choosing a side. She clearly came out to sway public opinion, so she comes off as fake.

Isn't she also a corporate executive? She's not some newbie here. And her bringing in NJ's just to sway public sentiment shows she's definitely no better than other big bad corporate executives. With her background, she should've known better, so she basically brought this upon herself. Both sides played themselves and really shouldn't get any public sympathy for what they did to themselves.

And her reveals also showed she's no better than any evil she says Hybe is, because all of her "evidence" shows that she's just as greedy and manipulative as any executive (bc she is one, both for Hybe and SM). And it's gross to bring in minors into a corporate feud. What other reason did she have to even bring up NJ's reactions other than to use them as a shield for herself? She's a mother to them in the same way those abusive mothers use their kids to get back at their husbands. She's not some guiless newbie on the scene getting in over her head because she doesn't know any better. How long has she been a player in this industry? If she didn't think Hybe's contract was fair, she shouldn't have signed it. It's not like she didn't have a choice; no one forced her.

@하나-리아 that's what gets me bc she's not some minor trainee/idol forced into signing themselves to a slave contract bc they had little real options. She, an adult businesswoman with background in big entertainment corp, willingly signed onto have a small cut of a subsidiary company from the get-go. If she truly thought her contract was unfair, she should've never signed on in the first place and with her bg, she definitely should know better.

@johnnyjack3268 what's even? All she showed was corporate gossip, which showed her being part of and no better than, and nothing else. She showed nothing to absolve her from legal culpability that was alleged against her.

Then she should've put those promises into a contract. She's worked for SM for years, she should've known better if she had specific goals and wanted those promised to her. Or she shouldn't have signed on in the first place if Hybe refused to promise her. She came into this with eyes wide open and but it's not her fault when she gets exactly what she signed on for??

This seems like an attempt to manipulate public sentiment bc she has no defense to any of her criminal allegations(like, why is this grown woman throwing a group of young girls directly into this mess? Why even mention their reactions if not to use them as shields?).

Of course, neither side should be trusted. MHJ isn't clean, so Hybe should've known better than to trust her. And MHJ isn't some newbie, so she should've known better than to accept a contract she didn't agree with. There is no victim here (besides the idols and trainees). The executives did this to themselves. The real issue is whether or not Hybe can prove she also did criminal acts, and whether MHJ has any valid defenses.

@johnnyjack3268 ??? That's exactly what she did in the conference, wdym? But for everything Hybe alleges, she doesn't bring anything to refute them other than her words either, if she even addresses any of their allegations at all.

@johnnyjack3268 uh, not exactly. She admitted that they were true but that the context wasn't as bad as Hybe were saying, all without showing receipts or addressing her non-compliance with the audit. That's what I meant by she was downplaying the ones she addressed and avoiding the other parts.

@johnnyjack3268 no and I did see the conference, if she was really guiltless, she should've just complied with the audit, lawyered up, made her statement, and wait for the courts to show she was in the right, instead of playing the public sympathy card right out the gate and use the girls as shields. All she did was just play up emotions and share corporate gossip. She did nothing to actually and conclusively defend herself against the legal allegations against her. And I'd leave it at that if she hadn't weaponised the girls as well. That was just wrong.

@tedkim7347 I wouldn't say no choice. She had the choice of telling ppl that the girls have nothing to do with it and ask ppl not to include them in their questions. That'd be the responsible way to handle it. But I agree that any real issues should be left to the courts. I really have no sympathy over either side with this. Both sides really just brought this mess to themselves bc they both should've known better, with their backgrounds. I only feel bad for the artists for being dragged into an spat of rich egotists being greedy.

@johnnyjack3268 please don't misunderstand, I'm not saying Hybe was right or that she is just evil. I'm saying both are as bad the the other and don't deserve public sympathy. Any sympathy should just be for the artists that got dragged into this

@jeghetersoojeong sounds like you aren't checking the timeline. Audits have to be publicly announced bc of legalities. Hybe isn't a private company to just do things internally without announcements to their stockholders, the public. They apparently had enough on Ador, not just MHJ, to initiate one. She could've just made the legal response statement, complied to the audit (smt she still didn't do by the time of the presscon) and wait for the courts to absolve her if she did nothing wrong, but she's the one to make this a bigger public fiasco and make it abt how Hybe is doing this bc she went to complain to them first. The way she's going on press conferences and radio to not answer or downplay her legal allegations and just spread company gossip, when she's the highest paid CEO of Hybe's sub, shows she just as bad as any other CEO she's trying to vilify. Bc she's trying to make herself out as only a victim, despite being a successful veteran in this field and having the experience and influence to know better abt the contracts she signs. Plus, the way she put focus on the artists, who actually have way less power and influence she does, is just gross and wrong. But both she and Hybe brought this upon themselves. Neither she nor any executive from Hybe deserves public sympathy. All sympathy should stay with only the artists being caught up in a fight between greedy CEOs.

@jeghetersoojeong sure, 3rd party "lawyers" who have no access to any actual legal information are going on sns to give their spiel are definitely going to know what's really going on. 🙄 The only thing they got right is that no one has given anything conclusive and that's why it's foolish to take a side. I'm not sympathetic to Hybe, but they're not trying to act like some innocent victim. I just think she's as gross as them and it's hilarious that ppl like you are taking her side when all she's done is the same thing Hybe has done: say words without giving anything to back them up and use the artists as shields for themselves. Sorry to hear that you're drinking MHJ's kool-aid, but ig those 20yrs of being a successful creative director means she's good as selling an image.

@tedkim7347 eh, does she adore them or this project that they're apart of? It makes me question her when she brings their reactions and their parents into the forefront public scrutiny instead of keeping focus to herself and the corporate issues and telling ppl to not include the girls. It sucks that their actions are now also being judged in the court of public opinion. I do think she does see it ad true in that NJ is not getting the corporate focus that she wants from them. From her words, she seems to want Hybe to act like a label. But Hybe isn't a label, but a parent company that needs to divide its assets among many labels. And what's she's brought up (Hybe too, I won't deny that) has been mostly she said vs what they said. She said they broke their promise, they said they didn't. She said they didn't contact her directly, they said they did but she didn't respond. This really should be for the courts to conclude first before the public should pick a side.

@gh-ps5es but that's the point why it's foolish to take a side in this rn. All we really have are mostly he-said/she-said allegations, including what you're saying here, so picking a side now is going to be mostly from emotional/perception bias.

It's interesting how she talks to circle around addressing her criminal allegations and how she deags idols into it when she could've just as easily said they weren't involved. It seems you might want to take your own advice to avoid being blinded by sensationalism.

@gh-ps5es did you not look up why Hybe is asking her to step down or hand over her laptop? Corporate espionage, attempted takeover, leaking confidential and private information abt both the company and the staff (the artists, included). Those are criminal acts (and not all is on MHJ either, tho) that she either downplayed or avoided to address. Stating this isn't bullying when it's a report on why Hybe is doing an audit and if she is being non-compliant, like they cliam. And it's less me being neutral, and more that I'm not on either side for this. If Hybe did smt like this, I'd put them on blast too. If she was clean in this, she really should've lawyered up, released her statement, and left it to the courts, rather than make a spectacle of it all and put more pressure and scrutiny on the artists. And it's still doesn't change that rn, it's all a matter of what she claims as true vs what Hybe is saying is true. She said they didn't contact her; they're saying they tried and she didn't respond. She's saying she's stuck with Hybe bc of her contract, they're saying she was free to sell her shares and leave. She's said her contract is unfair; they said it was more than beneficial to her. She's saying Hybe worked against NJ, they're saying they didn't. She's said she made a report she never received an answer for, they're saying they did answer her. And they're said that she, along with other execs, were involved in criminal acts, which is why they're doing an audit, and she's denying or downplaying much of the allegations.

@gh-ps5es and it looks to me like you are the one who only wants to take one narrative as fact bc of bias. You're only using the conference to say she's in the right and a victim, instead of waiting for any actual conclusive evidence to support one side or the other.

@KingKikikoi uh, she was the one to start and keep talking abt the NJ girls' reactions. No one was forcing her on that. If she cared abt them, she would've tried to leave them out as much as possible. For all of her other issues, at the moment, it's all he-said/she-said that MHJ addressed or brought up, and really, they should be smt to wait for the courts to decide before saying one side was right over the other, if any were "right." Remember, she's not a newbie kid being tricked or forced into a slave contract. She's an established and long-time player in this industry. She should know better abt how contracts work to know how to not get into one that would be completely unfair to her. And Hybe really also should've been aware of the consequences of their own actions, as well, so there's no sympathy on my part for them. It's just rich ppl getting into a fight that came bc they were being greedy. It's really their artists, who are being dragged into this, that I feel for. And considering how she was dancing around and downplaying the criminal allegations against her, and the fact that she confirmed many of the non-criminal but still suss allegations despite downplaying them, it does not look like she's a blameless victim either.

@jeghetersoojeong I took my info from korean news sites, and it's clear that you, and others like you, want to take a side on a corporate issue that you have no real knowledge on to determine anything bc there's nothing out in the public for that, except that both sides are being sleezy on an individual and personal level. My only concerns were with how she put weaponised artists to cover herself. However, it's clear that you don't want to listen to facts or reason over anything that doesn't agree with MHJ, so you can rant all you want to feel better abt acting like a sheep. Sorry, to hear that you don't care more abt the artists, but ig, you're not the only one so you can feel better abt that too.
