The best lesson I've ever heard about the Soviet Union. Not just you nail completely the Bolshevik goal but indirectly explain Putin's authoritarian regime: pretending that the past does not exist, that 70 years of radical ideologization, individual de-responsibilization and existential paranoia backed by complete absence of any civic education and democratic culture can be surpassed without any effort, demonstrating how the totalitarian mindest lives on. The hysteria connected to the realization that ones has to work into the light before achieving any civilizational goal makes the automa crazy, irrational and violent.

Finally someone with clear ideas. The nationalist and socialist dirt has no ground in European tradition
23
I like how you emphasize the Romanity and Germanity of the Merovingian power. The migration era has become a craddle where alt-righters cherish in the vane hope that the very Empire the Germans were sharing the power with was not the same Roman one they feared and revered and wanted to preserve. Clovis was the greatest of the Germanic leaders exactly because he managed to preserve the Gallo-Roman world intact to live on an dominate Europe through the Papacy, Catholicism and the Universality of the Empire.

This video has the historical mass of a black hole
16
This should be listened to in schools
15
This is by far the clearest, most cogent, logical and informed explanation on the subject that I could even dream to find on YouTube. You're impressive man
15
He's all saved. The true crime is no one sharing the content
15
Unique video
14
I'm under the impression that you're the only qualified person to talk about this on YouTube but the world has gotten so dull and oblivious that even the top military historical, religious and anthropological expertise is out of the range of the 10 minutes-attention-span-adult. This stuff is pure gold and you should be having millions of subscribers to say the least
14
I arrived to a point in life when I consider knowing or not knowing Italian history the difference between being respectively cultured and illiterate
14
One of the top European history chapters and horrifyingly neglected
13
Schwerpunkt is changing the way we think power
12
The Roman horse distinguished themselves throughout all the Republican era resoundingly defeating the Gauls, notably at Sentinum. I was also aware of the "weak/poor cavalry" stereotype and I will never understand the irreducible "but the Celts..." either. Just certain people never learn what warfare is by scale. Thanks for making such videos
11
Great to see a history professional making serious videos in an otherwise endless sea of Internet mediocrity
11
Finally a cogent and scientific teaching of Germanic history. Too tired of tribalism and ethno-nationalism
10
The best video on Norman Sicily I've ever watched
10
This is the only channel on youtube treating actual Medieval history and not a click-baiting, minimalist interpretation of the same
9
This channel makes all those 15 minutes videos "when did the Roman Empire fall?!?!?!" look like a bag of hamsters
9
Wow, on a military history channel a video on Vauban getting half of the views than one on the Freikorps. Schwerpunkt's right when he says that most followers do not understand absolutely anything about the content
9
I feel pity for those who still follow other history channels. Share
9
This channel is a continuous source of inspiration
9
Finally a channel that deserves the title of expert in the Art of War
8
Great explanation
8
This channel is the best of Europe
8
These videos are precious and useful
8
Beautiful explanation. I really like your battle videos
8
Great. Looking forward to the new entries
7
How can a literal 5 minutes video like "What did a medieval archer do after his arrows were spent?" get hundreds of thousands of views in a month and a pertinent 3hours long lesson of a PhD about some of the most fundamental chapters in Western history just a few hundreds? I fell ashamed for people who still watch other channels
7
I've always appreciated your notion that isolationism, populism and pacifism are the primary indicators of the deeply seeded cultural inferiority of a people
7
The purest expression of Germanic Traditional ethos I've ever listened to. It's incredible to realize how nobody that I've ever met in Scandinavia has even ever heard any of this having historically existed
7
Based and loving it
7
Incredible. F*****g incredible
7
Fantastic video
7
The military expertise of this channel is extraordinary
7
Incredibly interesting. Beautiful pictures btw
7
This is by far the best content
7
Great analysis
7
Love your focus on the HRE
7
I've never known someone who explains Roman history the way you do. It's amazing
6
The most beautiful thing about this channel is that it's designed exclusively for intelligent people. If you're not one you can't even begin to understand which is wholly what you deserve
6
Your Medieval Islam playlsit is always very interesting
6
@arthurito6055 Welcome to Schwerpunkt, the guy that knows such topics better than the existing scholarship
6
Great content
6
Mindblowing
6
Incredible
6
We need more Medieval Italy content
6
How can anyone be so ignorant not to learn Florentine history?
6
The only channel teaching real history after generations of academic emptiness
6
I like how you point out the Longobard legacy in the Carolingian Empire, given that in a couple of generations the Frankish emperor was ruling from the Italic kingdom. But of course no person out there even gets what it means
6
If you look at the whole catastrophes that occurred to them throughout history the Ukrainians have shocking resilience to say the least
