" ofc this is obviously false as the victim can run away to a safe location like anyone else not living with the offender.

It is not needed as there is already law against violence.

@JackTheBlindOrganistAndCrepey "so the authority will not take the crime seriously." Authorities like that would either not care about a new specific law, or they wouldn't allow it to be made. in a funcitoning society violence is violence even if it happens at one owns house.

@mffmoniz2948 Nobody mentioned who is financially dependent on whom. And it is the same regardless of gender. Neither one would run into the snow, that is just silly. And laws against domestic abuse would not change anything anyways.

@nameherez "ook into how difficult it can be to escape an abusive spouse if you dont have what you need." it is just to walk away. Not very difficult. take the bus even. Easy to reach a completely different city before the abusive partner even comes home from work.

I don't know if Russia actually has short term shelter for abuse victims, hopefully they do as that would make the transmission periode better.
