@deavman It is not pulling very hard on semantics using the correct term for children and adults. If it was a child soldier that person is both a child and a soldier at the same time. When a child soldier is killed, a child is killed. I don't get why this is difficult to understand for you. You saying that they should not be listed as "non combatant civilian youths" is a different matter. But nobody is using such distinctions. You just say that they do.

@leonnozik Well, we are speaking english here and not arabic. in the western world anyone under the age of 18 are children. Whether or not they are married or soldiers does not affect this at all.

@leonnozik Instead of talking legal terminology, lets just speak plain english. In the english language a cild is someone below that age of 18. An adult someone 18 and up. Have you never heard about child soldiers? They are still children, hence the name.

@yoados2949 Why not count them as both? That would paint hamas even worse then they are already. That would show to what extent they are using child soldiers in their fight.

@ozyermiahu Really? So Hamas states that for example, "israel killed 20 000 kids this year, 5 000 of those were our soldiers" Or " we have lost 10k soldiers, 5k of them were children soldiers" Somehow i very much doubt that.
