@Toebytes Europe supports Ukraine more than USA does...
24
@toplel1860 "Not to defend Elon but that logic applies to the bulk of CEOs it's not exactly unique to just him. " That ius why most CEOs don't claim to know how to build rockets...
6
"In fact, Russia only has a contract with Moldova," The contract is with the gas company is it not? Not moldova per se. And not russia, but Gazprom. And that moldovan gas company is mainly owned by... Gazprom.
6
His son could haul out barrels of gold from the treasury, get convicted, and then pardoned...
4
" guess where all that new defense spending is going" Hopefully not the US as they block the use of so many systems.
4
@johnmahoney9354 If that was the real reason then in 2 years after the war turned slow they would have built up new production lines. the truth is that more european ammunition is sold abroad rather than to ukraine. And new orders were laughably late to arrive.
4
Getting billions and billions in profits will make it easier to fix those problems. But only if you chose to spend the money that way.
3
@fabb5 "The Homless veterans" they are probably happy that america is helping fighting russia. go on, ask them
3
@mikebugaj730 Blown up infastrucutre and industry.
3
@termonostruman "they turn off lights to avoid attacks its a very old technique" Do you really believe that modern drones are navigating by lights? And is russia too weak to protect its cities?
3
@jaynikk758 lets be real and call it 2.5 years. Still not great..
3
Did sholz call to offer butter? or did he call putin to tell him to gtfo of ukraine?
3
@test-rj2vl "Just sign whatever makes Trump happy and next president after Zelensky will say that agreement signed under duress is not binding flush it down from toilet." yupp. It is easy to just call Zelensky a dictator and only agreements signed after the next vote to be valid. So after the war is won, any forced deals can be ignored or renegotiated.
2
@chancellor3122 "why would the U.S allow the EU to take a slice" because they have no say in the matter
2
@Fiztex553 "That would mean 10-15% extra tax." no it would not. it would make the europeans more money as they would by buying from europe, creating more jobs there.
2
@LambofSuffering "average life expectancy for new Ukrainian troops is 4 days so, and ?" So silly. if that was true then the entire population of pre war ukraine would have been spent several times over already.
2
At least that way the prices goes up and delivery is slowed down.
2
maybe this is a second reason for increasing interest rates. hard to pay a mortage at 25% interest.
2
@scottgray636 "Didn't fail at two plants did they?" Two plants is not really that many.
2
Nah. not a declaration of war at all. same as if french soldiers fight in ukraine that is not a declaration of war against russia.
2
@goiterlanternbase What would the legal trouble be? what laws would france be breaking by sending in 10k troops to fight at the front in zaphorizia?
2
@markwalton8644 "Foreign fighters who went to Ukraine were volunteers NK Soldiers wee officially sanctioned by NK an Russia!! Massive Difference" so what? Seriously, how does it matter?
2
@OleDiaBole "Entire combined western amo production goes to Ukraine." not true. European countries send more ammunition abroad to other countries than to ukraine.
2
@ieuanhunt552 "So we're just going to conveniently forget all those little green men in Donbass from 2014 onward. Or Russia illegally annexing Crimea." I sure haven't. But ukraine refrained from turning it into an actual war. there is a reason that ukraine did not strike any part of crimea before 2022. Exactly because it was annexed by russia(without a fight), and ukraine was not at war with russia. all the fighting were in Donbass where there was civil war(heavily supported and fired up ofc). So it was a war between ukraine and 2 small "republics". Russia bet on crimea surrender happening again, it didn't. this time ukraine was ready for war with all of russia.
2
It would be difficult for ukraine to break its contracts with eu member states. Not renewing them on the other hand should be a no-brainer.
2
A good read of the deal. thanks.
1
Also how they lost wars in the past
1
Sounds silly that one would feel the need to be republican if one was in the military. Especially considering that the republican party has been the most pro Russia these past 3 years.
1
@Toebytes Lol. You truly have been listening to some odd propaganda. (Or you are just making stuff up?) Europe has been aiding ukraine almost double the amount of which USA has been doing.
1
@Toebytes Lol Your numbers are way off. Germany has so far spent 30 billion on refugees alone. So even without counting financial or humanitarian aid Germany matches half of what USA does.
1
@WorldCrucified NATO does not depend on the US. USA is the only country so far who have required help from NATO, so the dependency really goes the other way. Btw. Europe was able to help ukraine during day one of the war. I doubt USA did much better.
1
@ " You should really look up the CEO psychopath/sociopath correlation." Why? being a sociopath has no real correlation between knowing to build rockets/business/whatever.
1
They will do something else. Just like they did before the war.
1
"A better measure would be to compare GDP growth not trade with the US" no. because how much better the average polish guy or ukrainian does is of little concern to the average american voter. How much better the average american guy does is the only relevant thing to focus in if you want to influence americans to vote for more aid to ukraine.
1
@GrigoriZhukov Their votes counts as much as anyone elses.
1
Russian leaders do not care about mines in their own land.
1
@davidmclean357 Seen them :)
1
"You don't need to join the EU to have free trade though." True, but is sure does help
1
@freak94able "oh and if you numbers were true Ukraine would be winning while gaining ground here and there not losing it and withdrawing on an hourly basis" Why? How does loosing fewer men equate gaining ground?
1
@markobucevic8991 "russia who has more ammo" lol. Then why ancient shells from north korea?
1
@donaldengel4128 "Honor on the world stage. My guess is they still believe in it." Not that simple. Putina and Trump say that Zelensky is illegitimate. That means that the Ukrainian honourable thing to do is to ignore any agreements he signed and renegotiate new ones after the war..
1
@chillxxx241 "This is a really bad deal for the US. It would be best if the deal wasn’t signed." How is it in any way bad for USA? It costs nothing to USA and gives them some control over another countrys use of money.
1
@powerpointpaladin6911 "who presided over the declaration of war in 1939. " A bit late though... and by that time there obviously was no option.
1
@davidmcguerty8405 "At a minimum, pay their minimum NATO dues." there are no NATO dues.
1
"It's a military fact artillery causes about 75% of casualties. " is it? Statistics from USA in Afghanistan would say otherwise...
1
Germany alone has paid 100 billion
1
"collapsing"? So how long until russia takes Keiv do you think?
1
"PROFITABLE FOR WHO?" Americans.
1
You do realize that us companies are owned by US taxpayers? And that even if somehow they owned themselves they would still be taxed.
1
@markwalton8644 It is not an act of war against anybody to send in official military units into ukraine and fight against official military units from russia there. Russia itself has not even declared war on ukraine yet...
