I remember when I lived in London 20 years ago and encountered Eastern Europeans, mostly Poles but also Slovaks and Ukrainians and Balts, telling them that the USA could not be trusted in foreign affairs and that they had too worshipping a view of the USA. They told me I was wrong and “anti-American”, despite the Iraq debacle unfolding before our eyes at the time. I would love to meet those people again and ask them what they think.
