Terr Di My dude, I’ll be hear all day quoting verses...but sure, I’ll give you a couple:
“And do not obey the disbelievers and the hypocrites but do not harm them, and rely upon Allah . And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs.” (33:48)
“And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go] on their way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.” (9:5)
There are so many contradictions in any bible, that it becomes a cluster of rants and nonsense. Like, why? The context just becomes warped and then what happens? You forget the messed up verses and move on? Lol, sure.

Terr Di No, religion exists because it’s based on human nature and gives you a sense of closure, security, guidance, and sincerity. But is it? Obviously not for me since I’m an atheist, I’m a cynical, and I don’t believe in those organizations. Not saying all religions are bad, along with some of their principles, but, it’s not necessary, either.
I’m sorry, but I’m confused on what you’re trying to say in your last paragraph? Also, “Toxicity” is a spectrum, it doesn’t have to be entirely “immoral”, it could also refer to immaturity.

@Tomatopincushions Oh yea, you’re definitely right. I have an undergraduate degree in art, and all of my art history classes were strictly about Europe (the Renaissance), and were leaving out a lot of European artists who were considered “controversial” because of their themes. For example, someone like Benvenuto Cellini, who referenced Greek mythology. We mostly focused on allegorical paintings, relating to the New Testament, when something like ancient paganism or demonology were mostly left out.
Besides that, Islamic art was totally ignored, even though Islam was just as innovative during the Renaissance period.
If you’re lucky, you might have a few professors in college who are more open-minded, who focus on International work, not just European based. But, it’s not just the US who is lacking, it’s the education system in many countries and continents who are not using the world as a tool, yet they only discuss whatever agenda is correlated with their country, which as I said, is propaganda and nationalistic qualities at play.

@CuddlePhantom No problem, I hope you find some form of aid.
Political science has a very long history, lol, so I’m curious on how they'd teach you. I started off my research with US politics, then went off to study all the terminologies and structures of foreign politics.
If you enjoyed high school, I’m sure you’ll like college even more. Most people with a degree actually get a job not associated with their major, which is ironic.
That’s very cool! Having enough grammar and pronunciation is good to get by, but if you’re not fluent, you have to continually practice so you don’t become too rusty.
I’m sure you’ll be able to work in Korea. Maybe after you graduate college, you could apply to the many English teaching programs they have in Korea. Korea is one of the most cheapest and reliable places to teach English, compared to Japan, where it’s very expensive (because everyone wants to go there).
Oh, and if you’re really interested in political science, I’d suggest to read the constitutions: Anderson’s Constitutions (technically the first constitution in relation to the freemasonry), Articles of Confederation, and then the Constitution of 1789. Then you can check out the US Code of Laws, for policies and bills.
I’m sure you’ll do great in college, you already seem willing to learn and educate yourself :)

@CuddlePhantom It’s cool, I know you’re busy.
I see. I’m sure you’ll eventually forget about high school once you deal with college, lol, because of all the responsibilities.
Yes, getting a job in correlation to your major or undergraduate degree is pretty difficult. Life is unpredictable, and you could end up in a different field than you originally wanted. It also depends on how lucky you’re getting connections and a decent internship that’s worth it, especially since they don’t pay you when you’re an intern the majority of the time, that’s what happened to me when I wanted a job in NYC, they offered me an intern position with no pay. It’s true that you have to start somewhere to gain experience, but I don’t think it’s right for them not to pay you for so long.
If you like Duolingo, you should check out AnkiWeb or Pimsleur, it’s more professional. Yes, competing in a healthy fashion is always fun, I agree!
Ah, yes, Korea has a lot hurdles for expats and foreigners when it comes to acting or singing, because of stereotyping and prejudice mentalities. But I’m sure in the future, it’ll definitely get better. Non Summit (Korean show) did a great job with educating Koreans about foreign politics and cultures. It’s also sad with the amount of plastic surgery that’s rampant in Korea when it comes to beauty standards, they also put pressure on foreigners and try to force them into getting surgery. But you’re right, getting a good agency that doesn’t abuse you is key, I’ve heard many stories of how bad they could be.
Ah no, unfortunately I haven’t traveled far, or even outside the US for that matter. However I’ve seen thousands of documentaries and am obsessed with travel vlogs and geography. That’s how I know so much about cultures and customs, from reading or watching stuff, lol. But one day I want to travel to a few places. I’m sure you’ll travel a lot too, in the near future :)
Anytime! There’s so much philosophy to read and learn about, lol, especially since we relied on theology as a way of life for so long, before the Age of Enlightenment movement, then atheism and secularism started to become more apparent, particularly now more than ever.
Thank you for listening to me, I love hearing about how curious you’re about learning, I wish more individuals were like you.
Thank you so much, I know we’ll both make it far in life!

Erika R Of course you guys have rad cultural influences. Love the people and the cuisine. I think most of Latin America has more negative implications than positive ones, because the level of corruption is insane (which can be attributed to the CIA). I remember watching Anthony Burdain in Brazil, and he had to hide underneath a table because there was a shoot out happening near the restaurant he was at.
Besides that, I think City of God is a cool movie. Wouldn’t visit Rio de Janeiro because I’m not into the party lifestyle. I’ve seen the statue of Christ the Redeemer so many times in travel documentaries, and I think it’s also cool. And the thing I love the most about Brazil, is the amazon rainforest. Love all the indigenous tribes that are there, I’ve always been interested in them and have seen a bunch of documentaries on them. But yea, I have love for all of Latin America, for all its dancing, cuisine, and drinking customs.

Erika R I would have to disagree. Even in school, the civil rights was always pushed down our throats, and we didn’t get any insight on the natives. Black History month is screamed throughout the whole month, while Native American Indian heritage month (November) and Asian Pacific American month (May), etc, are severely overlooked.
Well, according to history, the minorities are usually forgotten and are replaced by cooperate entities. Still, they’re very resilient towards any abuse they’re given. And there is also the possibility the new generation wants to explore the world and leave their tribes/clans. Either way, you’re right, it’s sad.

Sleepy Pigeon I never wanted to be an animator because it’s a waste of time, imo. Extremely limited resources where I live in America. Or, you could be a mediocre animator on YouTube and make a lot of money (not my style).
But yea, you’re right. They don’t want 2D animators, and it’s rare when they do want it, since it’s only for backgrounds. Not a fan of Pixar or the new current 2.5D that Japan has been doing for a while now, and will obviously compete with Disney in the future with that technology.
Well, I’m a comic artist who has developed my own style and I’d say, I’m a good writer, only because I did massive research over the years and I feel comfortable with my influences. I’m still starting out, however I’m building my portfolio and aim to get an agent in the upcoming year.
It’s either you have passion, like I have, which is be original and don’t copy others, or be a 10 year old artist who copies shitty artist for their art career. I’d rather struggle and make original art that has style and integrity.

@itsjennylin So, to clarify your “reasoning”: it’s a “baseless rumor” according to individuals who believe in logic and rationality, to want real evidence of something that the CCP is not wiling to give up?
Interesting to say. Why don’t you look up the repeated attempts of governments/countries not taking responsibility for their actions? Why don’t you look up the so-called “lab” near ground zero? Look up SARS in 2003, the CCP postponed their findings on the virus and lied, even more so with COVID, when they put in a puppet in the WHO, an Ethiopian “health professional”, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who lied for China saying COVID isn’t that “serious” in early days of the pandemic?
The 1918 pandemic is very similar, no? Masks and Europeans/European Americans blaming everyone for the pandemic.
Are you sure about that, that mostly Western countries are hating on Asians? Maybe. But also the fact that China is getting everyone annoyed, even Japan and India, for example, who are Asian.
It’s not that “special” if history is repeating itself, with the only difference being that we’re here to witness it.
I get it, wearing the mask will supposedly “save” lives. But let’s not ignore the exaggeration from the media when it comes to COVID in general, or the contradictions when it comes to “social distancing” when at times you can’t. How giant corporations get to keep their businesses flowing when small businesses can’t. Or the times where everyone puts their masks down when they’re eating in a restaurant or out in public.
I think it’ll be more interesting to do an analysis on the pros and cons altogether.

Minsang1st I never said that they’re going through the same exact situation and thoughts that’s I’m going through, which is impossible, since we will never full comprehend an individuals thought process (the brain being too complex, is what I’m saying). However, we all have something similar, right? That is the on-going battle of depression...and I think, that I will eventually loose the battle. I don’t (and I can’t) compare myself to society, or even begin to cope with it, since my head will always against the current. I can’t really explain my hatred for humanity or myself, and that is another “story” that will be never fully understood by anyone, but myself. Yes, I wrote it vaguely on purpose, since I’m all about those reactions. No, I was talking about it from another perspective, and how shitty games stimulate a human being so forcefully. So, I’d say it’s both pathetic and sad that they waste their life’s away on games that could be compared to mainstream app/iOS games.

@CuddlePhantom You’ll do better than ever. College is way more challenging than HS, believe me.
I think it’s “legal” to a degree (at least in New Jersey and NY), that’s why they still use it for many different job opportunities. If you look on Indeed (for job hunting), you’ll see tons of offers with “unpaid” internships.
I see! I respect how you’re using so many apps for learning Korean. Ah, what app did you use for teaching Korean natives English? And have you heard of an app called “Tandem”? It’s for language exchanges, although there might be some creepy dudes on there, lol, but hopefully it’s few.
Yea, lol, they also had a show called Where Is My Friend’s Home, and it used to be on Netflix.
See, you’ll already make it far with how attractive and smart you’re, I can feel you radiating confidence from my screen :)
You shouldn’t worry about the details with what they’re specifically looking for, what matters is how comfortable you’re, as you don’t quickly burn out, especially from being too miserable on the sets. I think you’re perfect the way you’re, we all have our challenges in life, and as you said, DIY is what really matters.
I do definitely want to learn Japanese while in Japan, so there’s always a chance we walk by each other, like in those slice of life anime movies or shows, lol.
I agree! Reading about history and philosophy is a big part of my life, and it’s something I found more entertaining than reading fictional stories, lol. Although there are still individuals who practice their faith while making innovations in science, which just tells you how interesting the dynamic must be.
Aw, thank you, Hope, that means a lot, I can only say the same for you, the only difference is that you’re still young and can achieve way more in college than I have ever done. I never prepared before I graduated, taken an internship when the situation arose, or joined any clubs. I was definitely a punk with a stubborn mindset, just wanting to work on my own projects XD
There’s no doubt in my mind that we could fail with our ambitions, even though we’ll fail along the way with minor injuries, we’ll still reach our goals :)
