Sleepy Pigeon I never wanted to be an animator because it’s a waste of time, imo. Extremely limited resources where I live in America. Or, you could be a mediocre animator on YouTube and make a lot of money (not my style).
But yea, you’re right. They don’t want 2D animators, and it’s rare when they do want it, since it’s only for backgrounds. Not a fan of Pixar or the new current 2.5D that Japan has been doing for a while now, and will obviously compete with Disney in the future with that technology.
Well, I’m a comic artist who has developed my own style and I’d say, I’m a good writer, only because I did massive research over the years and I feel comfortable with my influences. I’m still starting out, however I’m building my portfolio and aim to get an agent in the upcoming year.
It’s either you have passion, like I have, which is be original and don’t copy others, or be a 10 year old artist who copies shitty artist for their art career. I’d rather struggle and make original art that has style and integrity.
