@CP-ir3ft Yes, even though the term compiles many ideologies, it’s more “progressive”, at least in the US. I don’t associate myself with it, or really acknowledge it, however, lol.
When I say I’m a “socialist” or “communist”, literally everyone, ever, has defined Marx’s “communism” and relates that to me. When in reality, all of them haven’t read any of his works or researched political theology in general. I have my own definition of communism, which is nothing like Marx’s; one major factor being he essentially supported dictatorship, I don’t.

@CP-ir3ft I don’t mind being associated as such. But in full confidence, I’m a liberal, lol, even one of my political admirers is FDR.
I’m a “liberal” in the sense that I support government programs and the government in general supporting its citizens. Sadly, the US is corrupt, unorganized, and exploitative because of unregulated, capitalistic laws that create loopholes to benefit the wealthy.
I’m on the side where I think public assistance, overall, could truly help the people who are suffering, if they were completely reformed (along with the entire system, of course).

@SailingSeignior I’m an atheist who’s studied theology, mostly Abrahamic religions, and while I agree that these religions promote hate, they also promote guidance and love. You’re certainly not reading these scriptures, when you can easily read them online for free, in chapters.
You sound like a typical atheist who tries to denounce and ironically, crucify people’s faiths because you deem them as “evil”, when you’re clearly being biased to form your own extreme agenda. Not cool.
If you’re a so-called atheist, you should probably reevaluate your opinions and start to study theology as a whole. If you want to be respected when it comes to these topics, you have to be prepared and don’t resort to predictable tactics of overly negative views, when there’s a huge spectrum you’re ignoring.

@jijitters Thank you for typing that all out, I really appreciate it!
I strongly believe a lot of mental illnesses are aligned and have too many symptoms in common, which is why most people who are nuerodiveegent are forever lost in limbo with their own self-diagnoses and diagnosis from so-called professionals who all have differing opinions.
I deal with depression, anxiety, and believe I have a decent amount of autism traits, such as intense OCD, sensitivity to noise, and desensitization.
When I deal with my major depressive episodes, or even suicdial thoughts, all these criterias you mentioned come to light. Obviously what you feel seems to be on a daily basis, but I've had symptoms that depict the same existential dread and confusion.
So, I really don't know, lol, and I don't think anyone will truly know the extent of our own human development, because things can go every which way, and I feel like nothing ever truly makes sense, since the human mind is so frantic throughout each day.

@SailingSeignior If you’re referencing Hinduism, the caste system you see today was emphasized and manipulated by the British.
If you’re referencing the Old Testament, New Testament, or the Quran, you have to do the research yourself to find out whatever truth you’re looking for. You could use dozens of verses to your benefit, as these scriptures, or bibles, were written by dozens of individuals, or so-called “prophets”. You could also take verses out of context, too, which is a common argument when discussing religion. I’ve seen it all.
Arguing about religion in a serious matter is complete nonsense, when there is just too much information, and many chapters could be filled with contradictions, since nothing is ever consistent when regarding ethics.

@SailingSeignior I like how your views always end up in extremism.
The people who use the most violence in religion are extremists, I'm glad we've already admitted that, lol, and I'm sure everyone agrees.
Although my argument, I hope you understand, was to persuade you that not all these sects are necessarily "extreme", according to their beliefs. Your argument is very one-sided and too critical, which isn't exactly healthy when talking about something as complex as religion.
Even though the caste system in Hinduism is logically bad, doesn't mean you should just focus on that one aspect of that religion. The lore of Hinduism, and its history of the Aryans, is something that isn't expressed much when talking about history. Let's also admire and appreciate how Buddhism and Jainism came from Hinduism; similarly to how Sikhism came out of Islam.
The spirituality side of religion is something that is used in secular societies, which again, doesn't mean you take it seriously. We can agree that a form of daily ritual, based on a zen mindset, is actually more beneficial than harmful, right?
As you continuously bring up extremism as your main argument, it sort of warps the narrative of how atheists think of religion, no? You now have become an extremist yourself, with rather conservative views, not talking into consideration that there are many great human beings who practice their particular faith.
Anyway, as an atheist myself, you also have criticize how ignorant other atheists are. Why are you not bringing up pseudoscience in atheism? The arrogance and ignorance of atheists is very ironic, thus why I said you should study paganism as a whole, not skips huge parts of text and history.
Mythology is a huge part of religion, besides these outdated ethics, we have drugs and imagination that created these unique stories.
Although I fully understand your harsh opinions on religion, you should take a step back and do research on paganism, altogether.

@Floaty8008 The 2 relationships in this video with huge age gaps can be heavily criticized, which I already mentioned earlier.
What is the context of “4 years of someone’s age”…how old is the younger individual in the relationship?
I think it’s immoral if the individual is 18, and they’re dating someone who is 22, according to your 4 year limit, only because it doesn’t make sense, when it comes to the progression of the older individuals life, where they should be in college, for instance.
It’s not synchronized or balanced in the least.
I use science and integrity to back up my “morals”. Most people here who are defending large age gaps to barely young adults, are saying “age is just a number”, or “young adults are very mature” as their defining logic, which can easily be argued by how it takes time for the brain to develop as a teen transitioning to an adult.

@SailingSeignior I said no such thing that they were created by the British, except the Dalit (the “untouchables”) was created to emphasize Indian society. I’m not suggesting nothing? Your “extremist” arguments doesn't phase me, lol. I never said I supported religion, nor did I say I hated it.
I know what you’re referencing, and I said to study the religion as a whole to understand its values. It’s all based on interpretation. I think Jesus is God, that’s my interpretation of his stories and image of Catholicism.
Religion is absolutely subjective, and at the same time, manipulative.
You talk about “research” like you’ve done it yourself, that’s a pathetic argument within itself. I could immediately tell you haven’t read anything, lol, because you’d know there are dozens of sects that use specific verses to form their own principles. It could be ethically wrong, or morally just, it all depends.
I never defended the sacrifice of an innocent person, so why are you using it? Sacrifice has been in paganism since the beginning of human civilization, doesn’t mean I support it.
Lol, you’re telling me that without even studying and researching theology yourself, you sound very insecure and hostile, when you should be educating yourself to be a better person. I respect certain aspects to these religions, yes, because again, not everyone who studies these religions are horrible, evil human beings, as your toxic perspective describes them to be.
7
-
Matt Collins You're thinking of a "utopia".
Not everyone who practices their faith is an extremist, nor are they bad human beings. If you ever travel the world, you have to learn to adapt and respect others, including their faith.
I live next door to a Buddhist. My community involves many religions, including Orthodox Jews, muslims, Coptic Christians, and many other Christian denominations. Similar to dealing with festivals, customs and traditions, you deal with it, even if you don't want to associate yourself with many of them.
Religion will never go away, it only evolves. And btw, atheism has been around since the beginning of paganism, but either or still won't change the outcome of "logic and reasoning".

@Lina_al_j I know what these terms mean, I’ve done the research already, which is why nobody is understanding anything I’m saying because you haven’t done the research yourself.
Yes, there are different types of democracies, but the “voting” system is a trait of democracy itself; as you said yourself, it doesn’t mean it uses the variables of the term.
Russia is an authoritarian country with fascist elements, including the removal of “free speech” and “free expression”, for example.
I already said all that, lol, you’re repeating what I’ve stated. That socialism and communism have different interpretations, definitions, opinions, and theories that can make up a system.
“Communism”, to me, is definitely not “extreme” whatsoever, and I’ll breakdown my ideology/theory behind it, since nobody is comprehending:
First off, all different political and economic philosophies can indeed work together if you borrow certain elements and add it to a “portfolio” to make sense. However, I’m just using communism and socialism as examples, since I need to emphasize the importance of how they correlate.
Socialism represents the laborers who are working in a society (literally making up a civilization), which automatically makes them “socialist”. Which means socialists work, produce, innovate, create profit, and programs (or welfare systems). A socialist working in a environment doesn’t necessarily mean they’re passionate about their job, or the people that they work with, which means they also don’t have to be sympathetic or empathetic, right? Because their colleagues could be just “acquaintances”, not friends.
Now “communism” includes the same elements as socialism, but there’s more “passion” behind it. Think about “per capita” based on a country, for instance, a country that produces something in great value is purely “communist” based. People in a community have empathic and sympathetic traits because they form bonds, friendships, and they help each other, which is why the government is usually not associated with many communities, because they’re disconnected.
Now, let’s bring in capitalism. Think about these essential philosophies in a working town that functions normally: public and private properties. They all work differently but produce the same results: profit.
Since they’re creating profit, they share the same major factors, and this also includes taxes from those same socialists or laborers. To clarify my point, is that you can mix them together and they all learn from each other in some form. I can’t figure out why everyone is not understanding that you can have many philosophies in “action”, and they all work off each other, even sometimes creating a hybrid.
The problem is that none of you are thinking “outside the box”, instead, are looking at something in absolutism, where you can’t challenge a system because you’ve already decided its limitations.

@MinaMina-gs5wc Yet Marx’s communism has killed the equivalent, if not more humans than modern paganism.
There is good in religion, although I do think there are more negatives than positives. I do consider myself a historian, and if you want, I’d be glad to spread awareness and enlightenment to you, or anyone else who might come across this thread. I can easily give you references and clear up the many inaccuracies about religion, or the timeline concerning major wars and events.
Death is not a “facade”, it’s a real thing that humans have to deal with. There is absolutely no reason why people can’t believe in an afterlife, even though these “paradises” are fictional, no one will ever know what will happen after you pass. Most people are afraid of the unknown, and you’re going to have accept that it’s a human trait, and everything else in life we do is to fill the inevitable.

@ananastea Thank you for reading my comments, I appreciate it.
As you probably know from reading my comments, I am fully against forcing an agenda on people, because it creates propaganda, which leads to brainwashing. As a philosopher, I look at everything from each perspective, even the extremes of history, as to why certain individuals do what they do (because mostly everything in life has a pro and con, or reasoning). Many religious people tried to convert me, including a Christian pastor and some Mormons. When a situation like that happens, I only listen, and I don’t try to forcefully convert them with my views, even if they do it me. In most cases, you can never force someone to change their whole mindset when it comes to their philosophy on life, they can only change themselves.
Overall, most journalism has failed because they rarely, fully understand both sides, meaning, they always have an agenda. Whether it’s favoritism or bias, it’s apparent. I however, try to be less bias about many things in life, it gives me the opportunity to understand why the world functions the way it does.
Anyway, I just wanted to give you insight on how my thought process works. Even more so since you’re also open-minded to other opinions :)

@Account-ql3mc This is where you’re lacking education in this specific topic.
Look up these examples: Islamic Golden Age, Timurid Renaissance, European Renaissance.
Even the Mughal Empire has periods of greatness.
All these religions pushed scientific innovations by art, instruments, and architecture.
Although back then, the bubonic plague wasn’t solved by scientific measures, it was handled by different actions as a way to stop the spread. Meaning, they tried doing something other than praying.
What does Christianity being “more open” mean?
They’re indeed responsible for the majority of people’s prejudice and ignorance, and let’s make it clear that it happens in rural areas, like the countryside and villages, where education isn’t common, and fundamentalism prevails.

@djnixon5791 Marx's interpretation has been "played out". His rule of "dictatorship" and a "party" have all been established.
Well, I disagree with you there, because you found someone who supports capitalism, socialism and communism as a balanced package.
The government, the public and private space are interconnected by sharing all the same elements, and they all feed off each other. For some reason, no one here can fully grasp that I have my own "theory" as to why this makes sense to me, and instead, are "branding" me, or telling I'm wrong for having my own virtues as a philosopher. This defeats the purpose of having freedom of expression as a "philosopher" in general.
Mostly everyone in this thread is copy/pasting the same "formula", including you, like recycled bots who can't form their own opinions, which doesn't make you a "philosopher" or an intellectual. This is why nobody is reading anything, you people are clearly reading from one nonsensical source, and using it as dogma for the same argument.

Jill's Sandwiches Listen, you really need to educate yourself, because you’re literally not doing anything to benefit your so-called agenda...whatever it is. I’ve already stated that confederate statues are not going away anytime soon, so wait another 50 years and maybe the statues, the flags, and maybe even the KKK will be gone forever (not saying white supremacy will be gone, just that specific organization).
Based on what you’ve said, you have no clue on American history. Even so, African Americans and the natives are very important to this country, but overall, the Africans were more important, which is why we had the Civil War. And, Africans helped defeat the Confederates or else the union would’ve suffered even more losses.

@muscle2500 To give context in your argument:
Homophobia was looked down upon because of past paganism rituals and ideals. It was basically a "libertine" era of sexual freedom.
Modern paganism got rid of those sexual desires and unified everyone according to what they believed, was "moral". So, deities and gods had to go, as you already know. There's also contradictions when it comes to that, as an author says, "don't judge onto others, as you judge onto yourself". So, there's really no definite answer to anything.
Also, the concept of "hell" isn't in the bible. It was glorified and emphasized by 2 individuals, outside the bible: Augustine of Hippo and Dante Alighieri (Inferno poem).
However, there are mentions of a “hell", but it's subtle and called "Hadēs" in the New Testament.

@wojciechkorfanty9567 It doesn’t matter. Having the people vote is still part of “democracy”, even if it’s controlled and manipulated, the theory is still at play.
Socialism promotes workers and still creates profit. There’s also a “hierarchy” attached to every workplace, where someone is making profit.
Socialism has many theories and systems, so really, it is part of capitalism, otherwise innovations wouldn’t happen, or the industrial system wouldn’t be advancing. Communism works in the same aspects.
Marx got lucky. Him and Engles were hard workers, that’s why Marx was very poor, because he talked and traveled all day. He definitely holds a “monopoly”, because he’s still referenced, and communism is still used in a few counties, it’s not irrelevant, lol.
That’s the point! They’re full of a giant spectrum of theories. You’re ignoring that main argument.

@egor6946 First off, I appreciate you for not being insecure, insulting me, or ranting nonsense.
They’re not “exactly” the same, as I said many times, but they share similar elements. I did say they’re “interchangeable” in the beginning of this thread, which probably isn’t the best term to use, however, they all relate in terms to the workers.
I understood you. I’m still a liberal, overall, representing those qualities. Literally the only conservative view I agree with, is the immigration system, and how accepting too many immigrants isn’t good for the economy.
That is part of my theory of socialism, it’s my personal opinion, based on how every human who is working, creating profit for the private or public entity, are therefore socialist.
Why wouldn’t you want to be called a “philosopher”? That doesn’t make sense. We as humans, have our own methods and techniques on dealing with life in general. You’re essentially saying you have no individualistic traits. No, I said from the beginning I have my own interpretation/opinions on these terms. I’m “making up” something that isn’t based on Marxism...that’s literally it.
Dude, this is called “propaganda”, to follow beliefs of an individual who expressed their own opinions, without even doing the research to find out what the individual believed in. Have you read his works? His manifesto? You’re following everyone else, which is what a “cult” does: vulnerable humans who blindly follow a “system” without fully understanding anything about it, or it’s actions and consequences.

@Floaty8008 Yes, I agree, some teens can indeed be more rational and “smarter” than an adult, vice versa. I’m not even referencing “Wikipedia”, this is literally based on common sense, a general well-known fact that the brain itself is developing at a rapid rate throughout the first quarter of your life. It doesn’t stop there, but it’s the most essential period for the later part of your life.
You’re not getting my main point, that morals (the philosophy of a human being) take time to develop, and as we get older, we self-reflect and introspect on our past all the time, even more so as you age.
The “science” of the brain is pretty fundamental, that it’s constantly developing, or changing based on our environments and the people we interact with.
That’s your opinion on the 18 year old, but a lot can happen in 4 years.

Trenice Johnson Well, I have a bachelors in Art. I was forced to take it because I didn’t find anything that I wanted, which was animation...so I chose graphic design. Animation is a horrible field to work in, so I’m glad I didn’t go that route. So now I’ve graduated and I don’t have a job at the moment...but once I do, I’m sure I can go anywhere in the art field, including film. Oh, and I have a very small debt, lol (because I went to a community college to get my Associates). Anyway, it all depends on your portfolio, not your degree, but there’s no harm in going to college if you’re smart about it (not having a huge debt at the end).

@channy6995 I used to think I was a lot of things: Social Democrat, Social anarchist, Libertarian socialist, etc.
Now I'm just a "liberal". If you get too deep into the political spectrum of these terms, it becomes a giant headache, then you get into the "neo" situation...no thanks. I've done all the research, and I'm confident of my political views.
I know my rights, read all the constitutions, manifestos, Code of Laws, etc. I know what's what.

@Lina_al_j I thought you were the other individual who talked about direct democracy.
Even so, you assumed I didn’t know what I was saying, even though I already explained afterwards.
You didn’t give me your genuine opinion of all that I detailed in my reply, you gave me emojis? Of course I’m not going to take you seriously after you did that, further insulting me by calling me “a kid”, when you’re freaking out, losing your composure.
What “references” are you taking about? You’re supposedly an undergraduate in political science and you can’t quote me? Where is your integrity as a writer?
Talk to me. Tell me what you mean?
Thank you for acknowledging that I’m finally able to have my “own definitions”. I’m not being sarcastic, you’re the first one to say so.
Oh no, I’ve done my “research”, I dedicated myself to political science, and history in general. I did answer your questions, you didn’t read it, otherwise you’d be criticizing my points.
Wikipedia is a great source, that’s how I become a self-educated historian in the first place. Wikipedia has many links that are from government related sites, books, and legitimate articles.
2
-
@Lina_al_j Why don’t you “enlighten” me on my confusion, instead of telling me? You’re a socialist if you’re being productive, coming up with solutions and delivering on your actions, aren’t you participating in society? If the government is delivering on their actions, producing positive changes, creating programs, how is that not socialist?
The key words here is: “are not the only thing that defines democracy”. Of course, manipulating votes is not the entire philosophy of “democracy”, that’s why I said the right to vote is a trait of democracy.
Not true at all. You didn’t read where I said “authoritarian” countries have fascist elements, even if they’re disguised as “democratic”.
You’re not being a “fascist” right now, that’s only if you said “I’m wrong for the sake of being wrong, and you’re right”, without giving an explanation...but you tried your best.

@UCCo-B4Z4O9if9o4PyI9RBYQ I have nothing "confused", I've read many of his works, his talks on capitalism, alienation, and read his manifesto 2 times. I've been researching political science for years now.
No, Marx was a lost hypocrite. He supports capitalism at times, then hates on it. He supports laborers/workers, then says he doesn't support individualism, which in itself is toxic. What he does support, is the slave mentality of a "worker" who is having an "orgasmic" experience working their life away, as he explains it.
You can't support the people if the "party" controls their lives. It's a major fallacy and contradiction, when in reality the workers have no say other than obeying the so-called party.
What could not be "utilized" about my opinions? My definitions are simplistic and are straightforward as possible. I don't get what you're saying?

@JayTeeDE No, you’re right, everyone interprets Marxism differently (sometimes taking those fascist elements out). I still don’t agree with it, however.
No surprise there with Operation Condor, lol. The CIA is known to completely destroy growth and intellectual developments in any country.
I seen the developments of Eva Morales not too long ago on Vice, when he was trying to get back into office.
Imperialism/war is indeed part of capitalism, but you’re right, even though I personally dislike Marx, I can’t say all his views were “inherently evil”, because he did have some positive thoughts about the working class. He just wanted a better life for them. Although his “hatred” for the elites really made him biased and bitter in the end; thus his polemic nature really showed.
My definitions of socialism and communism won’t change, though, I’ve had my theory in place for a while now, and I strictly talk about the fundamentals of those terms. I’m not trying to complicate anything, which is why I’m confused no one is getting it.

@ebru1750 Yes, and was has that individual said to me in full context? Did you not read my replies on socialism and communism?
They didn’t “disagree” with me. This entire thread is me defending my theories, while people are saying I’m completely “wrong” because I think differently. I’m a radical in the eyes of everyone here because they don’t realize socialism is used to help the entire population, by programs the government provides. Because everyone is a socialist by default, if we’re all in harmony, no?
No, liberal by itself includes a ton of different philosophies, because the major factor being, you’re open-minded to the possibilities of other philosophies that are “outgoing”. You can’t say I might not be “100” not liberal, then proceed to say nothing to explain why you said that.
Dude, you keep ranting but not answering me. I told you, tell me your definition of socialism, then tell me how I’m wrong. Then we can actually have a productive conversation with an end goal.

@derickbelisle6499 Lol, it’s just random, is all.
I’m not a Marxist, so it doesn’t relate to me.
Derick, philosophy is philosophy. It’s literally based on your opinion on society and the world. Political science is philosophy. Psychology is philosophy. Sociology is philosophy. Living in general is philosophy.
I said “aspects” of socialism, I never stated “full socialism”...ever in this thread! I’ve been saying I’m a liberal, who uses specific aspects of different political/economic philosophies to make up a system that applies to my virtues and morality.
“How can you have a national system that operates on markets and doesn’t operate on markets at the same time”
All I said was that they can “coexist” in the same environment, I never said they’re exactly the same.
Derick, I said this many times, that these 2 systems, socialism and capitalism, can be reformed and regulated, separately, if they’re handled in the right way.
Although a “socialist” is still a laborer in general, in any working environment. A communist is a community member, which I referenced in my earlier comment, is related to “tribal” mentality. These are my own interpretations on the terms.
In conclusion, I can appreciate both these systems, and take away aspects that I want to use in my own system. The public can borrow ideas from the private, vice versa. I said this same exact sentence in this thread.

@blazoraptor3392 As I said before, since nobody understands me when I said I agree with certain aspects of those political ideologies, I just mean I relate to those characteristics in that particular term. If you don't understand that, I can't help anyone on here.
I'm a liberal who supports free healthcare, free education, private businesses, gender equality, pro-choice, same-sex marriage, government programs, antitrust laws, free speech, democracy, etc.
2
-
@patrickbentley4038 That’s exactly what I mean, you basically explained it.
The commenter “CP” mentioned a “mixed economy”, which is what that essentially means.
Then you have the “welfare state” in the US, that encompasses socialist values, in other words, programs that offer assistance to the population. Although I don’t agree with every program because I feel like they “hinder” individuals in some instances, especially with government healthcare, like Medicaid, it not being the more effective system for people who are really sick. Another example is Section 8, that in my opinion, doesn’t promote a worker mentality, but relies too much on government assistance.
Then you have the Nordic model in Nordic countries, and that is called “market economy”, where it’s the welfare state in the US, just way more efficient. And yes, it still has socialist characteristics, even though it features more of capitalism, so it promotes a healthier, reliant system altogether.

@egor6946 I’ve never once, remotely used Marxism as my opinion on communism or socialism. Lol, if you really think I believe in a “revolution” in the same words as Marx, you’re not reading what I’ve been saying.
Look up “mixed economy”, then tell me how they can’t “coexist”. Tell me how, a country like the US, can function with private and public domains at the same time? This country is a mix of contradictions, lol. How are we authoritarian, capitalist, so-called “democratic”, and a corporatocracy all at the same time?
Listen, don’t just blindly follow a definition and think that’s all there is, when there’s a system of theories that follow it.
That doesn’t make sense. I’m pro-choice? What does that have to do with conservatism if they’re “pro-life”? I never said I was a centrist, I’m a “liberal”. However, I can take a conservative aspect/view and agree with it, since they follow their own system on how a society can function, same with liberalism.
But a society is socialist. A “king” himself is a socialist if he is making the rules, being productive, socializing in general to produce actions or change. It doesn’t mean he loves his people, it just means he’s interactive with both the people and economy.
If you want to be considered a philosopher, you need to have “free will”. Tell me your definition of socialism, and don’t reference Marxism, because he doesn’t have to be included: he’s been dead over a 100 years now and he doesn’t own these terminologies.

@I Love Sovonthak If you want be brainwashed and mention Karl Marx and Friedrich Engles for literally every argument for the word “communism” (without even referencing their ideals), then go ahead. I get it, they have many theories and variants of the word, they both elaborated on it than any other philosopher before them. I might agree with the general aspect of the workers in an environment, working together in unison, but not much else that followed.
However, I have my own interpretation and theories that fit my own political agenda. I don’t believe in all of their opinions on the term, and all that follows it.
My definition of the term is pretty simplistic, and I’ve explained it many times on this thread, but literally not one person has read it: communism is in essence, a group of of people, a tribe, working together, passionately to solve issues together, eventually coming up with a solution to fix that problem. I also explained my interpretation on socialism, that I think is slightly different on how they function.
The “communism” that you’re thinking of, when Marx explained it, is obviously more detailed, and follows ideals like no “freedom of expression” in his society. I don’t believe that to be true, when communities in general, consists of multiple personalities, and different social strategies to solve a problem.
Marx didn’t want a “personality” in that mix, because then it would be considered “capitalist”, since the capitalists hold all the power. So then that’s why I think part of his philosophy is flawed, because the “party” are essentially the capitalists, telling the population what to do.
Anyway, I can’t do much more if you don’t understand even this, as I’ve tried to adapt to this thread in terms of uneducated responses. The rest is up to you to do the research.

@elizabethjin2759 You do know Marx and Engels combined "communism" with other words, right? They came up with other systems, basically.
They were also influenced by earlier philosophers, too.
Sure I can support both, as I've said with the "mixed economy", or even explained earlier on that I'm a liberal, so I support socialist programs, and I love the private entity, especially those small businesses.
Look up these 4 political ideologies: liberal, libertine, liberty, libertarian.
What's the one thing they have in common?
But anyway, the word isn't owned by Marx, just because he came up with the system, doesn't mean he owns the word itself. I have my own interpretation on the word, so therefore I can use it freely any way I choose, which is far from Marx's opinions.

@amayia No, I'm referring to the Satanists.
The whole concept of a hell, was made up by one individual, Saint Augustine; it's actually not in the Bible. Dante's Inferno is another contributing factor. Therefore, it's just propaganda.
The Good and Evil concept, as I said, is referenced in other pagan religions.
I see! A few of my favorites pantheons, are Norse, Greek, Cetlic, and Hindu.
As an atheist, I'm glad I found another interesting individual such as yourself :)

Exactly. Religion tries to find a meaning, in questioning what it is to be human.
Yea, too bad you can't say that to a religious person (they won't accept that fact). Even though it's barbaric because it's two thousand years old, as you said.
Well, there has been a rise of atheism in the past few years. However, I've also seen pseudoscience become a thing...so it's still a mess. I think religion won't ever disappear, there's too many humans who need to believe in something, either because they're lost, vulnerable, or simply want to belong.
I agree with you, although communism has really ruined that ideal of an atheist utopia, lol. Jokes aside, I've just accepted religion and educated myself in everything so I can feel comfortable in any situation; otherwise, I just ignore religious people if I have to.

Ryan Bales Yea man, I see where you’re coming from. My father who is Puerto Rican and was also an immigrant, left me when I was 5, so I grew up with my white mother. I don’t know how to speak any Spanish, but, I’m a giant history buff and I know more things about certain cultures than even the natives don’t know...which I think is pretty cool XD
I don’t feel like I belong anywhere, honestly, I just grew up very poor, with not much family, and I don’t even talk to my other side of my family because I’ve never met my father since. I think “belonging” somewhere is an illusion, rather it’s your individuality, morals, and ambitions that define you. But yea, I never understood why you must feel “pride” for your own race/ethnicity, when I think everyone, equally, brings something unique to the world...so I’d rather embrace everyone :)

@chiquita1015 It's messed up, but at the same it's a completely normal "phase", because it's part of human nature.
All we can do is better ourselves: listen to individuals, see their perspective on life, adapt and evolve. That's why I'm always telling everyone to educate themselves, it literally changes how you live your life. I'm not the same person I was 3 years ago, for example, now I understand so many other perspectives because I've dedicated myself to research.
Not only does it give you confidence, but you're also immune to stupidity, lol. I might be insecure with my body, but I'm completely confident with my Intelligence.

Jonathan Henderson You’re going way off topic; I was talking about anime, not cinematography.
I’ve seen the same. I’m also an enthusiast when it comes to gaming, music, comics, literature, philosophy, history, etc. naming hobbies and using big numbers doesn’t change the fact that NGE is fine but not the best. For some reason you’re ignoring Nadia because you’ve never seen it, so you can’t even use it as reference, lol.
My dude, go watch any Sci-fi OVA or movie from the 80s and tell me it’s not more creative than NGE? Studio Ghibli? You’ve already named them, so then there seems to be a bias when it comes to all the other options available? It all come down to you favoring NGE over the whole spectrum of other works.
That’s fine that you wrote essays explaining your interpretation of the show. I really don’t think it’s that complex, I mean it’s pretty much a Shounen, lol. It’s like you doing the same for Akira, when most of it is of teens having temper tantrums and screaming names at random.
You just said “most anime sucks” and “you don’t watch much anime”. Clearly you know more than me about the medium, lol. I like getting straight to the point, and you like going on tangents. I’m not hating on you, I’m trying to give you more options.

Texas Tony I agree. The whole ordeal could be very annoying and confusing at times, since the majority of people are not educated in history or terminology.
Yea, I have mixed blood, so it’s not like I have pride in anything particular, and I love everything about the world, which is why I’m a historian.
Arguing over nationality or race is somewhat ridiculous, lol. I don’t even feel “American” at times, but I understand how sometimes it could be a frustrating debate about what that actually implies. I’ve met many people who are patriotic about their race or ethnicity, yet they know nothing of the origin of their country (the culture and customs of that country, for example).
And no problem, thanks for being cool :)

Allison Martino I really love nostalgic anime, and as you mentioned I was also into 90s Hunter x Hunter (the 2011 one is a reboot, and I loved that one too) and grew up watching Naruto.
Here’s a few classic Shounen I enjoyed that you might like: Rurouni Kenshin, Outlaw Star, Yu Yu Hakusho (same creator of HxH), JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Inuyasha, Gun Sword, Trigun
Fist of the North Star is another classic, from the 80s, where you have a ton of “manly men” shows. The fist part of JoJo is pretty much FOTNS. I’d highly recommend the OVA, Hokuto no Ken: Raoh Gaiden
One Piece is really good too, but it’s really long and I’m not sure if you have the patience to sit through it XD
Although reading the manga is faster.
Of course there’s Shinichirō Watanabe works: Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Kids on the Slope, Space Dandy

@alishamcg I'm sure she is.
I was also assaulted by a cop (an undercover narc) who thought I had a gun and drugs on me when I was 17. When in reality, I was getting money from my sister to get pizza, and he assumed it was a drug deal. To give clarity, I was skipping my gym class, which was second to last period.
I was with my black friend at the time (I'm white, just wanted to make it clear), when the narc said "don't move" to him (not in a nice fashion), looked back at me, then hit me a few times. My body couldn't respond because my flight-or-fight response kicked in.
Throughout the whole ordeal, it happened so fast that I concisely has no control over my body, and I was wearing a hoodie, so that's why he assumed I had a gun.
Long story short, I got over my fear and hatred of cops. Maybe she'll change her opinion of them in the future, she still has time to mature.

gisellelikesrice No problem, lol. I love when people talk about their life experiences in detail.
Ah, that sucks about what happened to your uncle. I also respect him for not getting angry over being misidentified. Cops can sometimes be very ignorant and too aggressive about their work ethic, without being calm about the situation.
Yes, I appreciate you sharing your story...so thank you :)
Yes, the only reason why I know so much, is because I’ve graduated from college a year ago and I’m still applying to jobs XD so in the meantime, I’ve been reading book, articles, dairies, etc, from legitimate sources in PDF format. I developed a severe form of OCD and I started to obsess about everything history, including philosophy, sociology, theology, anthropology, etc. Besides that, I’m an expert in other fields when it comes to anything film and I’ve watched thousands of documentaries XD
I don’t have a degree in history or anything, lol, I’m just confident in articulating and forcing myself to memorize everything. College and school was overall boring because they forced their own agenda onto you. I think that’s why everyone is so misinformed and confused about the world and culture...because of how cynical education can be (spreading propaganda, especially the mainstream media).
Yes, I hope you can ask your family about what they know about their history and culture. I never had anyone except myself to really make the effort to educate myself in everything. But I’m glad you have such a big family, lol.

@VictoriousSage I never learned anything in school and college, lol, I know everything because I was passionate about self-educating myself. You aren’t going to find the “truth” without doing hours of reading from many different professional sources, and documentaries also help.
There’s not just one sect of “satanism”, there’s dozens. Anton LaVey started the interest, curiosity and trend.
No, I understand your viewpoints, and I already know of those extremes in these cults/occults. Yes, I do agree that secret societies do have many abuses dealing with hazing rituals, such as Freemasonry and Skull and Bones. I’m just saying have an open mind towards paganism, I mean, check out Wicca, I think it’s pretty interesting.

@VictoriousSage Nah, the schooling curriculum ain’t gonna go that deep into the many truths out there, they’re very linear in their methods. When it comes to anything related to history, the school system in general is going to force their agenda on you.
You’re right, I’m just saying I didn’t see anything particular on Anton LaVay.
I see! That’s very interesting.
I’ll take your word on their testimonies, I’m sure they were abused in their previous cult. However, I don’t associate myself with any organization, especially religious, when it comes to getting the truth, lol, that’s why you have to be cynical of what they’re really promoting.

@cindytakyi8222 Yep, I super agree XD
I've seen all Shounen shows, and I'd say to ignore Naruto and Bleach (especially Bleach because it's just garbage, lol). Now, I think One Piece is definitely worth it because it goes into many mature themes, like slavery, corruption, and drug trafficking, for example. It really deserves its place as the top-selling manga, even though the fan-service can be annoying at times (the early animation didn't have any of that nonsense).
The reason why you probably hated SAO, is because it's based off a light novel and not a manga, which means there's massive quality differences in the content. Light novel adaptations have a specific art style that distinguishes itself from the manga format, and if you seen SAO, it means you've seen all the other LN adaptations.
But if you're into mature works, I can also give you some of my favorites? As you said, Shounen has a lot of cliches and tropes XD

@Lina_al_j Do you really want to test me, lol?
I’ve already explained what anarchism, socialism, and democracy is. You can literally quote me when I explained them on this thread, or you can try to say how “wrong” I was...but you obviously won’t.
Marx’s communism and Mussolini’s fascism are all about control: Marx literally states in his manifesto that “individualism” is non-existent in his “utopia”, that everyone is a “proletariat” and works without prevail. Mussolini repeats the same notions, no individualism being the major factor of his argument, with the exception of religion, Roman Catholicism being essential to his cause, in contrast to Marx who is an atheist.
Socialism is dominant in both these philosophies, working for the government, not the individualistic desires of the people, to create a “powerhouse” of authority.

@williama1859 But I can, because according to my opinions on them, they’re one and the same. They rely on each other to make everything else go smoothly.
I want a regulated capitalist system, and I also want a reformed socialist system.
If I had my own company, which is private, my mentality wouldn’t be leaning on one side of either philosophy, I would however be using both, of those positive attributes that I would be implementing.
The same goes for my values on libertarian (which is still liberal) and anarchist aspects. If I was a boss, I would want my employees to have complete creative freedom, no dress codes, open dialogue and debates, a voting system (depending on the context), etc.
But, I still want discipline, deadlines, and dedication. A comfortable working environment where nobody judges; and a respectable hierarchy, where individuals are able to lead their own teams to create their own projects.
Of course, a smaller/medium sized team is more preferable, than a very large team where you can’t converse, or be a genuine community.

@derickbelisle6499 Yes, I know what capitalism means, lol.
Saying you “can’t be” doesn’t make sense. How are you majoring in political science and don’t understand the meaning of philosophy? Philosophy adapts and evolves based on your experiences, moral compass, and integrity. It doesn’t stay the same.
Also, why is Angela Davis mixed in with dead people, so random, lol.
Anyway, I’m not taking about just one thing, I mentioned how capitalism, socialism and communism can all coexist. How is it a “paradox”, if they work by default in a society?
And no, I believe anything could be a problem, all you have to do is reform them, take leadership qualities to fix those issues.
1
-
@ebru1750 I’m clearly not freaking out, lol.
I support socialism, capitalism, communism, etc. I never said they were the exact same thing, or mean the exact same thing. I said they can all literally live in the same neighborhood, and feed off each other. A public and private school can literally be a block away from each other, they have different systems in place, but it doesn’t mean they’re not functioning in the same overall environment. A private school can do things a public can’t, the same applies to the public. But, they can maybe learn or adapt from each other.
All I’m saying is that I take these aspects and use it as a perspective, in context to how something could fail or be successful if applied, be fixed.

@yellowbrand You need to educate yourself and learn the differences.
Conservatism limits many civil rights, such as same-sex marriage, abortion rights (which is part of individualism), and gender equality. We can clearly see the conservatives has issues with the LBTQ+ community, too. Although I don’t agree with everything they do, it should be their life to do what they want, as long as it’s not too extreme.
Liberalism wants to make society more “free”, most of the laws and policies are “progressive” when it comes to diversity and helping out those who need governmental assistance. Gun-rights is also a controversial issue with liberals, as they want to limit gun usage, compared to conservatives who don’t want changes.
If you would’ve read any further, you would’ve noticed I said it was a slight mistake, then I went ahead and listed the correct terms.
I’m an amateur theologian in the Abrahamic religions, and have done major research on the most important aspects of those religions. So, don’t even try to insult my intelligence, lol.

@TF-tn4ft No, not Marxism, I have my own interpretation of communism. I apply the standards of a healthy community in general, working together in an ecosystem, where you’re creating bonds and being creative.
I went to a community college for example, where I was involved with the locals, and learned the area in full, while making connections, which is similar to my principles on socialism. Just because of the “ism”, for some reason, I can’t use the word, lol...such nonsense.
Anyway, yes, you should have the “rights” to use these words however you see fit.

@soggycereal8626 No, I just mean people working in general, lol, to create or produce materials. Capitalists have to interact with their workers to make profit, to make sure the workflow is efficient.
Again, I don’t follow Marx’s opinions on socialism and communism. I’ve written my one interpretations on this thread, and my theories are based on humanitarian aspects where everything is transparent and equal.
You’re specifically referencing one con of capitalism, which is exploitation of a corrupt leader. But if I was my own boss, and had my own small business, I wouldn’t be exploiting my workers. It all depends on your philosophy as a human being, your integrity and morals. If you’re head of a giant company, you’ve got a high chance of becoming a corrupt capitalist. It all depends on you, your group of leaders you work with, and how interactive you’re within the giant community that is your business.

I’m not sure I entirely agree with your theory on “being born in the wrong body”, when there are many factors that go into the development of a human being, and we have no right to judge a child’s opinion when they’re mentally incapable of a making a rational decision at a young age.
I only agree with Ben on the facts of the human body, and how the LBTQ+ community lashes out and becomes toxic when they’re told wrong when it comes to facts.
I’m still not ignoring anything, I completely understand since I myself, being a white male, was a minority throughout all my schooling, including college. I grew up with mainly Hispanic and African Americans.
It’s fine. But you shouldn’t jump to conclusions and use insults as a form of argument.
I know gender dysphoria is an issue. But again, I believe the facts of the human body, being two genders, is highly relevant to how the body works according to those two genders. There’s nothing that you can do when you can’t change your genetics or reproductive organs. So the obvious choice is accepting the physical traits of the human body that you’re born with, and not ignoring them.

Toon She It’s called brainwashing and fascism, lol. No, the laws are corrupt and have loopholes. Do research and educate yourself if you want the truth on how capitalism works here.
It depends on who owns the money; it usually goes to the government.
Yes, but there will never be true equality, especially in the US when mainstream media brainwashes everyone. This is a first world country. Which means our equipment is superior and our hygiene is efficient. But that doesn’t mean we’re organized, it means the wealthy are catered to the most when it comes to capitalism. Just like the justice system, the more expensive the lawyer, the more likely your freedom.
No, you don’t have a choice. Please do research, because you’re uneducated on all these topics and like to spread misinformation. I know everything about history and the military because I have done hours and hours of research. You can voice your opinion, but that doesn’t mean they’ll permit it. You shouldn’t join the military if you value your freedom of choice, this isn’t a game.

@tibodeclercq2131 I don’t associate myself with Marx’s socialism and communism, I’m promoting the basic foundation of those terms by my own interpretation.
You can’t tell me what I support since you’re uneducated yourself, lol. I already told you many times, that I don’t support or acknowledge the “right and left”, and the “ism” either.
Authoritarianism is a separate entity that is subtle in any form of government, so I disagree with it being the opposite of “liberalism”.
Again, you need to do the research yourself, you’re copy/pasting propaganda that is repeated in real life and on the media, even bringing up Venezuela is extremely typical.
Socialism and communism are interchangeable, they both rely on the progressiveness of a civilization: synergy, social programs, rehabilitation, equality, unification, etc, are all examples of those terminologies.
1
-
@tibodeclercq2131 Lmao, what?
You’re the own who is “problematic” for automatically assuming I side with Karl Marx’s theories in the first place.
I said from the beginning that I don’t classify myself as a “leftist”, because it’s a joke. Meaning, the “left” is vague and shallow, that’s why it’s derogatory.
What country do you live in for you to say that? What you’re saying is complete nonsense. The government is supposed to support and supply needs to its citizens, that’s what a democratic republic does, even a republic for that matter.
All these major, public systems are for the people: welfare, police, ambulance, fire department, hospitals, prisons, schools, etc. Those are the fundamentals of what socialism and communism represents. And what I support is better reforms that does not hinder us, but gives us a fair chance at living life to the fullest.

grace blackburn I see. That went very dark quickly XD it seems very challenging to deal with.
I have no idea what my OCD is categorized under, but I have to keep educating myself until I learn everything about the subject/topic. For example, I grew up on anime...then when I got older, I just researched everything about anime. Then after anime, I ended up researching the history of animation so I wouldn’t be biased. The same happened with comics, movies, history, philosophy, etc. So I question myself on what I could be missing in terms of the process, formulas, ideologies...lol, it gets exhausting.

amayia They don't actually believe in Satan. But you're right, the Old Testament, which is the first major Abrahamic religion, is based mostly on fairytales. Allah, Yahweh, and Jesus are mythical/imaginary characters, except scholars believe Jesus could've been real.
These religions are all based on pre-existing pagan religions, such as The Epic of Gilgamesh and Zoroastrianism.
Modern holidays, like Christmas and Easter, are actually pagan traditions that were celebrated by the Germanic tribes/Anglo-Saxons. They were called Yule and Ēostre. The Christians weren't able to get rid of these pagan traditions entirely, that's why they're still celebrated and appreciated by the countries that they came from.

@Floaty8008 Of course I think the brain develops over the course of a lifetime, but I do agree with that theory of finding your individuality around 25 somewhat makes sense, since I think it relates to how I was fully confident of who I was around that time.
Yea, I understand where you’re coming from, even though I personally disagree with that relatively small age gap in that point of your life.
Yea, I’ve realized that, but the federal system is such a mess (very outdated) when it comes to consistency and transparency, that I don’t really have much of an opinion on it, lol. I myself have a 3 year age gap in either direction when it comes to the dating scene, and I’m 27; for me, that age gap clicked in my head pretty quickly, because I’d want the individual to be on the same level as me.

@mama456100 Good questions, Angelique.
No, I am not part of a nonprofit organization when it comes to lobbying, nor am I a lobbyist who has money to spend, influencing anyone in the House.
What do you mean by going out into the community to change “hearts and minds”? Going out is not what it used to be, so I would say it’s hard to communicate. I do live next to New York, which I will be visiting more in the future to join events and socialize. Nonetheless, I am fully self-educated and plan to use my knowledge to help people in the future. Right now, I can only educate on platforms such as YouTube or Twitch.
I’m not sure how to radically change a government if it’s rampant in corruption. You would have to start with the CIA first, then work your way down to Big Tech, other monopolies, and then the corrupt system of lobbying. Voting on a president will not solve all our essential issues, policies and the tax system change daily. We also need to focus on the corrupt system created by Ronald Regan, then put a stop to monopolies as they go against the constitution and human rights.

@racheljane_ I would say their ideals of “progressivism” is extremism, since ethics, dignity, and common sense are nowhere to be found, lol.
If you think about it, liberty should be coherent on all sides, even in socialism. As a socialist myself (I classify myself as many things), I believe the government should be regulated for their on-going corruption for exploiting the people.
I wouldn’t even say it’s “authoritarian”, I would say, for example, cancel culture is pure fascism, literally destroying an individuals life and career. There’s no “debates” being had whatsoever, just accusations and hatred.

Izadora Dau I think, for the most part, anywhere besides the “tourist” destinations in any country, you’re easily going to be identified for being a foreigner, and this includes literally anyone. An expat possibly gets racist remarks and are harassed by the majority; to them, you’re literally an alien. No matter what you do, you’ll be an American because you’ve already assimilated and psychologically, based on whatever state you’re in, you represent it based on your mannerisms and the way you dress. If you’re in a constant mentality of perpetual longing/struggle to be someone you’re not, it’ll only corrupt your philosophy and individuality. Then who are you? You’re not anyone, you’re in limbo, confused and lost.
I’m an American myself, I live in the US. Do I enjoy being born here? Not really. But I accept it because there’s nothing I can do, and it’s better than being born in a war-torn country. I honestly don’t like this world, or even sometimes, I’m nihilistic because I get severely depressed. Maybe I truly don’t belong anywhere, is what I’m implying. My point is, that you should try and accept yourself based on your own journey of how you got to this country. It’s fine to be insecure and feel like you don’t belong, everyone is human, but that’s why we can adapt and evolve, overcome yourself and help others who are lost, no matter where you’re born. I believe education and educating those who are ignorant is better than feeling miserable about yourself, at least it helped me with my own insecurities.

@rseestella2296 I was simply making a comparison on how the world works based on who is the majority. If you're the minority, you're obviously going to be overwhelmed by the majority.
It was a problem, specifically for me because I was a white minority among Hispanic, black, and Asians.
The acting part is true?

@aud_balez But the citizens are manipulated by mainstream and social media?
It seems we're the most divided when it comes to politics and agendas, especially now more than ever.
Yes, you're right! We're a corporatocracy. An oligarchy controlled by an gerontocracy.
I'll give you a few references: look up the Spanish-American War, where we became an empire, and when we killed more than two thousand of our own troops because we hired American contractors who didn't care (the real war was ourselves, not the Spanish.) Those same, corrupt contractors killed many troops during the Civil War, where the corruption really began.
Opium Wars: British used the Chinese for profit by using opium as their main source. Europeans and Americans made a fortune. In fact, most of our railroads were built because of that money. Now, the chinese are making the profit off us by their synthetic drugs.
The Wall Street Crash: the Great Depression was created by monopolies in the US, which again, was by rampant capitalism.
I could go on forever, but I can't talk too much about history, or my comments get deleted. Which means I can't get to the good parts, lol.

@BrianaLynn7 I do agree to a certain extent that the transgender situation isn't that serious, especially if they're requiring free sex changes, for instance. As a liberal myself, I believe a lot of their agendas are extreme on the negative side.
Yes, he is repealing many of Obama's bills. The contracts are obviously favoring the enterprise, which shouldn't be surprising for a Republican.
Again, I don't support or align myself with many of the transgenders needs, so of course it doesn't bother me.
And yes, abortion and religion is still a huge mess in this country. I'm a firm supporter of pro-abortion, I believe women should have the choice, it's their body.

Erin Smith Saint Paul (or Saul of Tarsus), who was Jewish and studied Judaism, supposedly had a psychotic breakdown or was on drugs, when he started writing the New Testament. I say that because he seen Jesus as a Godly being while, ironically, on his way to execute those who were Christians, and believed Jesus to be divine.
Anyway, Jew and Judaism is synonymous but they’re different: you could convert to Judaism but you’re not a Jew, since being a Jew is an ethnicity among the other Arabs. Being a Christian just means you believe in Christ, or God. The New Testament was written by Jews who argued with the other group of Jews who believed Christ was a false prophet. Similar to Islam, Mohammed was most likely jealous when he wrote the Quran, he wanted his own God, who is Allah.

Kenny Are you sure about that? You should know, the government is infamous for its crimes against humanity and it’s propaganda...so black history month doesn’t do much, only covering the basics of a complex history.
Can you quote me on that? It is true, that through generations, Africans lose their “identity”, which is clearly apparent in today’s society. This also counts for the indigenous/aboriginals in any country where they were colonized.
And yes, most African countries are extremely corrupted due to Europeans and the CIA interferences. Same goes for Latin America, South East Asia, and the Middle East.
My dude, I’m not insulting your race...I’m talking complete facts. The reality of imperialism and racism has caused minority groups to suffer through their DNA. It’s a continuous cycle of violence and self-destruction, especially because our government continues to do nothing for the inner-city violence with gangs, who are relatively African American.
Nonetheless, the world is “dysfunctional”, and has been throughout time and its respective empires.

dxtou's camera roll Well, Mexico is a poor country, lol. I would assume Mexico City has good doctors.
So you were diagnosed with depression because of your mom being sick?
I didn’t say it didn’t happen, I was just curious on the details of how it’s possible for a child that young to have depression, because that would mean you wouldn’t be a normal child. You wouldn’t have the energy to do anything because of your illness.
Well, I too, have depression. I’ve had since I was around 13, and now I’m 25. I’ve also never taken meds for my anxiety or depression...I even get panic attacks sometimes.
Yea, same with my situation, but my mom doesn’t understand that emotion apparently. She’s also mentally ill, which is not surprising because my family members have a history of mental illnesses.

dxtou's camera roll I see! That makes sense now! Still, that sounds pretty rare for a child to go through, and I’m sure you don’t remember much of it?
That’s cool you did all those activities as a child! It does sound similar to mine, at least until I reached the age where I started to get bullied all the time in school. Aw, and your mom getting you a dog sounded cute, lol.
No, I understand, and believe me, I’ve tried to explain my depression to many people...it just never seems to work. So now I don’t talk to anyone about it, unless I can talk to an individual I can relate to. I’m sorry about you being bullied, I also went through the same ordeal until almost the end of high school. I tried to starve myself when I was a sophomore in high school because I was bullied so much. Even in college I was judged because I dressed differently, lol, but that’s not a bad thing XD
I’m sorry XD I didn’t explain properly. I did graduate with a bachelors in Art, which isn’t bad...it’s whatever. So now it’s been a year and I’m still jobless, lol, it’s a long story.
Anyway, I love anthropology! Sine I’ve graduated college, I’ve done nothing but do research in history, so I’ve learned more than I could ever imagine from using the internet. Since you’re from Mexico, I just wanted to say how much I love the culture and history of Mexico...the Aztecs were pretty cool :)
And dance is also rad! Getting a minor is always a plus!

Sara Abdelrahim Also, since there’s always been extremism in religion, I’d like to bring up communism. Karl Marx himself was an atheist, but the dude didn’t hate religion (even though he wasn’t a big fan of the Jews, even if he was a Jew). Ironically, same as religion (linear propaganda), the masses have been brainwashed to think “communism” is real...when it’s never been used. For example, Stalin, Pol Pot, and Mao Zedong proclaimed they were “communists”/socialists...but nope, they were in actuality “fascists”.
I think the real problem here, is that everyone is illiterate and can’t read XD therefore they’re extremists because they’re ignorant and misinterpret the texts.

Artis L z Before you start giving me statistics, you need to post the link where you got them from.
I’m sure I know what “corrupt” is, since my country is very much so. We’re becoming a fascist regime run by monopolies, we don’t have a proper healthcare system, and our education system is a mess...among other issues. Hollywood is a major source of corruption, our complex tax system, the CIA committing crimes against humanity, our contractors, etc. The list can go on.
Lol, where do you think our money goes to? Look at the federal reserve system. JFK tried getting rid off it because it’s the most corrupt system that caters to the most powerful individuals in the world, such as the Rothschild family. We produce the most weapons and we sell them to our enemies. So again, how are we not in top 3?

@larrythesociologist No, I fully self-educated myself in history, philosophy, theology, anthropology, psychology, etc. I do not trust the government or the media for information regarding those subjects, because they produce propaganda. Self-research is always important to evolve.
For an African-American, I'm sure there's differing opinions on who was a better role model: Malcolm X or MLK. He was indeed a public racist because his believes were full of hatred. I'm sure after he parted ways with the Nation of Islam, his views changed.
Contradicting your thoughts on his words isn't going to change the facts.
Was he a necessary force, as you say? I would agree, but his philosophy was full of immaturity and insecurity. He was a confident leader who was sadly corrupted.
If you study history, you wouldn't see 2 seperate worlds, you'd see one.
As I said before, you aren't going to learn about history unless you put in the effort. Black History Month is propaganda. Forget about the US for a second, because where is the acknowledgment for the apartheid in South Africa? The 27 years Nelson Mandela spent in prison? The segregation of the whole country, that Africans had to bring a passport to even move around in limiting, cut-off regions?
That's only a small part of history.

@jcoolguy1548 Well, the movies you listed, for example, are from 3 different generations. All are 2D, compared to the modern generation of 3D movies by Disney.
I've researched all of Disney, so obviously there's a lot of technical aspects that go into my opinion of what I dislike/like of what Disney made. That's just me, lol.
The biggest difference is the 3D argument being inferior to 2D. Maybe that's why they voted him out.
Snow White and Sleeping Beauty are the same movie, btw.
I have no idea what other movies they've seen, or not seen? The Black Cauldron and Fantasia are underrated Disney movies, for instance, so a casual Disney fan wouldn't talk about it. There's a few things they wouldn't know, because there's a lot of cartoons/movies made by Disney that isn't talked about when it comes to the history of animation, and how important they're.

Tom Ball Lol, it’s my honor and dignity. I guess I get some of it from Japanese history and their philosophy on how they discipline themselves. But my philosophy is based on an array of other philosophies: anarchism, socialism, libertarianism, humanitarianism, minimalism, etc. I’ve never “conformed” to society’s standards on how I should “act”, and I think that’s why I always hated school or any other formal events. I’m against capitalism, yet I fully support it if it’s used the right way, which is using it strategically and resourcefully.
So in conclusion, I personally believe in not betraying my own morality: honor and dignity, which in itself is my essence of my humanity. I’m not saying I’m not flawed and sometimes, petty sacrifices must be made to evolve, but I’m not saying that in a malicious intent...more like an instinctual sense. Anyway, I’ve gotten betrayed so many times that I’m glad I have, it gives more reason to never repeat what those individuals did to me.

MetakJesu07 Now you’re making no sense, lol. I never said mine was better than others...unless you can quote me?
Everyone has different philosophies, as I named a few, some believe in those, and some don’t. I don’t believe in religion, some people do. Those are all based on theories and philosophies, which means it’s a lifestyle.
Are we basing this on the intensity of a crime? Morality as I define it, by my own philosophy, is to not harm anyone unless they try to harm me, so I act in defense to protect my life. It’s common sense.
My philosophy is more defined and complicated. I’m a futurist and I believe in creativity, and that means I’m into innovation. That’s one aspect to my philosophy. You’re thinking too much. I think maybe you’re confused on your own philosophy?

@caitlynnvanwyk1252 Thank you! The only thing I can do, is keep creating stories until I feel satisfied...which is something I never feel XD
Theology and ethics are very interesting. I mean, Judaism inspired 2 other mainstream religions...it's pretty cool :)
Yea, history, theology, anthropology, philosophy, geography, etc, is something that I wanted to fix because of my ignorance. Once you start asking questions, you go down a rabbit hole of trying to understand everything, which takes you back to the origins of the world. I think my OCD really motivated my curiosity XD
Me too, lol. But it's also good to be pragmatic when you think about life, it helps you keep composure.

@aysialee2465 Again, not true at all. Their lies have indeed hurt me and gave me horrible trauma, especially since I was already being abused by my parent (also being manipulated by lies). Therefore by being vulnerable, young and impressionable, it had a great impact on my psyche in the future, on top of being bullied by others.
I also have autism, and what you’re saying sounds like a “phase”, otherwise those “lies” can become dangerous if it’s continued throughout their development.
By defending your “family member”, it seems you don’t know much about this topic, never mind experiencing how consistent “lying”, no matter how tame or serious, is still detrimental to your overall mental health over time.

@deanvikram It doesn't have to, some stereotypes are true, or are close to representing reality.
I already mentioned how this demographic/ratio of votes could reflect more females and a gen Z opinion.
I never said anything was "wrong" with it. I also gave examples of gen Y (millennials) who were trending for liking certain types of bodies that are simple, such as chubby or even bigger body types. "Body positivity" was also another trend that I appreciated in some ways, where the body type wasn't "slim" or "fit", just not the "stereotypical" image of an athletic body type.
I never said "being in shape" was bad, but for example, I'm more attracted to "thick" and "curvy" females, who could be "bigger" in their body weight, and I'm sure the same applies to men who don't exactly work out daily.
No need for the passive-aggressiveness. This is just my opinion, lol, and I am also getting my facts from reality, from things that were actually trending.

@vedicboul Read my comments. The "audience" ranked them based on this specific category of content; which means there's obviously different demographics of people who watch this genre of content.
And that means the standards of opinions change towards the video. An example would be any of the middle ground and debating videos, where the majority of those viewers aren't tuning into these "judging" or "dating" videos.
So, I believe that the majority of voters are moslty teens and young adult females who picked their "favorite" body types. However, if the other demographics voted, who are more diverse, and possibly older, there would've been an opposite outcome.
Also, there's no need to "attack me" by assuming what I meant, when I can see that you didn't read everything I said, because I did back up my "theory" by many examples.
But then again, most people don't read and don't use their critical thinking skills, lol.

Jonathan Henderson I think “old” would be considered, as I said, the 60s and 70s.
Evangelion is very overrated. Hideaki’s first work, Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water is animated very well and is never brought up, even though Miyazaki was somehow involved in it.
Anyway, the actual plot of Evangelion is forgettable, imo. The characters were just as annoying and bland, similar to Nadia. I don’t understand the hype around it, other than the cool action scenes and lights glaring during tense situations. Oh, and both openings are just as memorable.
But objectively speaking, that’s a biased and ignorant statement to say that it’s “one of the pinnacles” of any medium. You can do better than that.
1
-
Jonathan Henderson The “old” I’m talking about is black and white, barely in color, or just badly animated with no in-between frames. Obviously there’s differences with technology that make them “old”. The majority of people are obviously uneducated about the history of these mediums, even though there’s artists who were ahead of their time during each decade, as I mentioned before with Disney and Fleischer Studios being ahead of their time.
Well, I think you’re a big fan and haven’t watched many other things, or maybe haven’t researched other mediums. The way you’re taking is very arrogant and pretentious. Although I appreciate your passion for the show, I can’t take you seriously as a hardcore researcher myself.
I’m giving my opinion on the show, that’s why I said it’s overrated when there’s other anime that are overlooked, which is why I said Nadia is one of them.
Let’s be real, how old are you? I’m 26. You sound like an old man who’s seen everything, when you’re boldly stating Evangelion hails as this superior anime when there’s dozens of other shows that are equal, if not way better.
Oh, be cliche and bring up how everyone loves these individuals because they make “masterpieces”. Yea, well, I’m not a fan of any of the authors/artists you named. All you proved is how little you know about anime, and every other medium you insulted by trying so hard, lol.
1
-
Jonathan Henderson I have no idea what you’re taking about, lol! You were giving examples of what’s “old” and said something about the 1910s. Please, try to stay on topic XD
An opinion that’s logical when there’s too many anime to compete with, yes. Then you’d notice the similarities with Nadia and NGE. I’ve already listed them. I’m not a fan of the director, as I dislike NGE and his live-action work.
Simply Google it. Here’s a brief list of OVAs: Angel’s Egg, Megazone 23, Devilman, Baoh, Robot Carnival, Vampire Hunter D, Battle Royale High School, Legend of the Overfiend, Patlabor.
And that’s only a few!
Movies: Lupin, Wicked City, Barefoot Gen, Akira, Little Nemo
Again, only a few!
You mean avant-garde? That “artistic” content can be seen in many of the things I’ve listed...not a big deal.
You’re describing an anti-hero, which is common in storytelling. Akira, the movie, is vague compared to the manga. There’s really nothing going on except fighting and Japanese subculture themes. Same with NGE, its very Japanese based that’s references their society.
I never said that either, I simply quoted you. Sure, I bet you know some things. I obviously don’t care about the term “masterpiece”, so I’m going to leave you with the list I gave you, so maybe you could check it out :)

Ape Regina You’re so uneducated it’s not even funny. Actually, all of you are. You contradict yourself and compliment the Nordic Model, yet, you don’t even know how it works? It’s literally based off essential socialism elements. And yes, like Europe, they rely on free trade/market, unlike the US.
China and Venezuela do not use socialism! Please read up on Karl Marx, literally nobody has ever used communism/socialism, it’s all fascism. Mao is extremely well-known for being a fascist. Stalin, Pol Pot, and Mao are all fascists.
1
-
1
-
Ape Regina You brought up Scandinavia...no?
Before I define what socialism really means, I suggest you to read some books, especially Karl Marx and his manifesto. If you don’t start reading books, you’ll never understand how the world works, or what these terminologies mean.
Socialism is extremely straightforward, since the word itself implies what it means, which is why I get frustrated on why everyone thinks it’s evil...when the term is very friendly. It’s a positive word that is supposed to help society and the people...that’s basically it. You’re listening to the population and you’re responding in good fortune because it’s your job as the leader. You’re giving them human/civil rights because again, you’re a leader who is supposed to care, aid, and listen to the population.
If you’re not doing any of this (this includes communism), you’re a pure fascist. If you’re killing and torturing your own people, you’re not a socialist or a communist; you’re a fascist.

Tereza Plaisir It’s true.
“Feminism” these days is not even feminism. Please do research about that, and look up the “women’s suffrage movement”.
All the terminologies you hear causally talked about, is not associated to the actual terms. They’ve been corrupted and manipulated from the original intent.
No, you’re taking out of context with what @Legends Never Die said: he said tampons, pads, condoms, should be equally viewed and respected. @Holly Wood was trying to stay that sex was a “choice”, but it doesn’t mean it takes value out of using the product for protection.
I want to clarify that it’s equally important.
And I never disagreed with not having free tampons in certain facilities, and are tax-exempt, did I? I never denied the use of tampons being a necessity, did I?
All you have to acknowledge, is that condoms, tampons, pads, birth control, etc, should be equally valued and be accessible to the population. That’s it.

Allison Gilson Well, I hate drawing but I continue to do so because it’s for my sanity and I want to see the end result of my story.
I didn’t say it’s “good for all”, but there’s no harm in trying to explore different mediums just because. Maybe take an art class, I didn’t like ceramics and I had to take it for high school and college; but everyone else enjoyed it, and playing with clay is a stress reliever.
You’d be surprised on how many dysfunctional artists dealt with their demons while doing art, like Van Gogh for example. Yes, I understand that, although I’m an individual who prefers reality rather than escapism. My favorite works all have melancholy and macabre vibes. Everyone should do their own thing, I’m not judging, just suggesting.
Let them be “valid”, why should I care? I said form the start that everyone deals with their problems in certain ways, I wasn’t trying to force anything on anyone. You’re projecting on how you feel, I’ve already accepted my death and whatever else many years ago, and I don’t care what anyone thinks. No, I want to suffer and I’m suffering right now (literally because of severe pain from an injury). “wishing” is not part of my philosophy, although that’s up to you. For me, this is what true art is about, suffering is what brings out the absurd, dark side of reality.

Allison Gilson I see, it sounded different when I read into it, so my mistake.
Lol, I never said you were being “delusional”?
Well, to me, it sounded like you were being real and went on a rant, but it’s all good.
No, it has nothing to do with “opinions”, it’s a fact that many artists have mental illnesses and have clearly displayed their despair and pain into their work, especially if you know their story.
I agree, although personally, I don’t escape reality, I like to see all of it, which means I want to see death and suffering in storytelling.
When did I say anything about not being “hopeful”? Please quote me? I always support people, you’re probably talking about my philosophy which isn’t directed at anyone but myself.

Ryan McBride Ryan McBride Yes, I know the history of both the Scottish and the Irish.
Well, that’s an excuse if they promote ignorance by saying “we still go through the pain of our ancestors” (in times they act like it’s physical pain), which is heavily applied by African Americans, and I don’t support that mentality. Obviously they’re too privileged to know what actual war and being enslaved was like, since they’re safe than in times of imperialism/colonialism. I do understand the mental trauma of the hereditary after effects, for example, alcoholism being prevalent in their communities, which I believe is a chemical imbalance due to being forced out of their natural lands.
The Irish were treated almost as bad as Africans, I’d say. I don’t know, why don’t you ask your government? I mean, at least y’all have your own democracy in South Ireland. The native Americans are very scarce in terms of the population, being the lowest. It’s just different situations and governments.

Chappie If you want to know what’s really going on, I suggest you study history and educate yourself.
Imperialism and fascism are not dead. Yes, the US has been one the leaders for its transparency in imperialism, but they’re not the only one. The UK was also involved in some major wars, such as the relationship between Tony Blair and George Bush during the Iraq War.
Now the imperialistic tendencies for the last few years, has been through China, who is becoming more dominant than the US, in terms of propaganda and their investments in various continents.
Fascism is definitely not dead, nor it will ever die down, because it’s part of the human experience. The whole world is covered with fascist agendas. Study Africa, it’s history and how many of their countries are ruled by fascist generals who have history of eating people alive. Latin America is another prime example, since they still strongly believe in fascism in ruling a country. This is history, look up Operation Condor, where the US was getting rid of the whole “Marxist agenda”. Communism and fascism are the same exact thing.

Governor Greenlight I am a historian who continues to study theology and everything else. Islam, Judaism, and Christianity are not all bad. Yes, they have contradictions and faults, but they do have many verses that give positive insights on life, or how life was like, two thousand years ago. Hinduism came before Buddhism, and both Jainism and Buddhism take elements from Hinduism, except they disregard the caste system.
All these religions have produced change, and each one has produced different ideologies, which leads to sects being created. Islam had many golden ages. Christianity created the renaissance. I could go on, but not all of these religions are as bad as you claim. But again, I totally understand where you’re coming from, since I thought that way until I started to study religion and paganism.

galena97 No, everyone is different, however I relate to those who have that way of thinking. “What change”? Well, a lot. I’m taking a pragmatic approach to live life, where I accept the worst of the worst. I’ve been going on gore sites for almost a decade, and I’m also a history buff. If you accept and acknowledge the worst, you can evolve and try to solve that solution. I’m more self-aware and paranoid of life because of it, lol. Could that be viewed as “bad” thing? Sure, but I’m a smarter individual because of it.
Depression is a spectrum, it’s complicated and I know that. I didn’t specifically say you were “overly positive”, It was just an example of people who are ignorant.
Yep, as you clarify in your last sentence, everyone is different. I’m just saying I’d rather put my faith in someone who has more of an understanding, rather than someone who doesn’t understand and thinks they do.

Aari Oh, and I totally agree with Naruto and Dragon Ball. Of course, I loved them when I was a kid but now I could never rewatch those shows. Actually, Dragon Ball is really fun to read (the pacing is perfect, it’s nothing like the anime btw), I read the manga a few months ago and I loved it, especially the tournament arc in the beginning, or the Buu arc (which is the last arc).
With Naruto, you could check out all the fight scenes, they’re really animated well, the original series and the sequel! The Pain fight is legendary, lol.
