  12. nessoli Yes, as I said, they want to feel different but they aren’t. Sadly, they have little remains of their culture and history because of colonialism. The terminology, “Latin America” comes form the French (before that it was New Spain), when Napoleon the third tried to reclaim his empire, starting with Mexico. Latin represents both the Spanish and French languages, which origins comes from Rome. So essentially, there’s really not much pride in the reality of how dysfunctional Latin America and the Caribbean is from centuries of colonialism and imperialism.

I’m sure the part of your family that is shunning you doesn’t even know about their history. There’s absolutely no need to feel ashamed or embarrassed about who you are :)

I especially find the Maori people to have a very dark and interesting history. I’ve always wanted to visit New Zealand, lol...and not for LOTR. It’s also sad about the gang activity with the Maori people. Oh, and Italian and Roman history is also very important. You seem like a really unique individual. I think if you educate yourself in history, and educate others about your history, you’d feel more confident about who you are :)

I also respect him for not getting angry over being misidentified. Cops can sometimes be very ignorant and too aggressive about their work ethic, without being calm about the situation. Yes, I appreciate you sharing your story...so thank you :) Yes, the only reason why I know so much, is because I’ve graduated from college a year ago and I’m still applying to jobs XD so in the meantime, I’ve been reading book, articles, dairies, etc, from legitimate sources in PDF format. I developed a severe form of OCD and I started to obsess about everything history, including philosophy, sociology, theology, anthropology, etc. Besides that, I’m an expert in other fields when it comes to anything film and I’ve watched thousands of documentaries XD I don’t have a degree in history or anything, lol, I’m just confident in articulating and forcing myself to memorize everything. College and school was overall boring because they forced their own agenda onto you. I think that’s why everyone is so misinformed and confused about the world and culture...because of how cynical education can be (spreading propaganda, especially the mainstream media). Yes, I hope you can ask your family about what they know about their history and culture. I never had anyone except myself to really make the effort to educate myself in everything. But I’m glad you have such a big family, lol.

  28. I’m American and I disagree. I’m a historian and I love the world. Italy and China have a beautiful history and culture. I actually want to start learning Chinese very soon. You shouldn’t feel discouraged because they have such a rich history that you should be proud of :)

I say that because he seen Jesus as a Godly being while, ironically, on his way to execute those who were Christians, and believed Jesus to be divine. Anyway, Jew and Judaism is synonymous but they’re different: you could convert to Judaism but you’re not a Jew, since being a Jew is an ethnicity among the other Arabs. Being a Christian just means you believe in Christ, or God. The New Testament was written by Jews who argued with the other group of Jews who believed Christ was a false prophet. Similar to Islam, Mohammed was most likely jealous when he wrote the Quran, he wanted his own God, who is Allah.

My father came from Puerto Rico and he has brown skin, but I look fully European from my mom. So I do have some Asian blood.

My father came from Puerto Rico (even though I look white), so when I told people what I was, Hispanics would get angry at me not knowing any Spanish or their culture.
