Just wanted everyone to know that the Middle East is in Western Asia. Even though I personally don’t call Arabs “Asian”.

I’ve heard this opinion/perspective so many times, lol. I’m an American and I don’t feel like I belong anywhere either. And there’s literally nothing wrong with that, especially since I’m a history buff, and I’m still learning :)

How are they “participating” in the oppression of African Americans?
2
An Awkward Sweet Potato Do you have any evidence for those claims? What does “colorist cultural values” mean? I know that there’s racism and prejudices in Asia against black people, but I’ve not heard of Asian Americans doing any of these things, that’s why I need examples.
2
Aye, I’ve seen a large Sikh culture over there.
2
According to Taylor What’s the “model minority myth”? And I’ve honestly never seen Asian Americans protesting for anything, lol. Unless you can give examples?
1
Adelle Lian It’s the exact same with Arabs or any other minority group.
1
@favourgift2448 No need for the hostility. I am very educated, however I don't hear much of Asian Americans protesting much...maybe a small group for the COVID-19 situation. Yet no one here was able to provide a simple example? Also, I was adding that other minority groups, who could be immigrants, are very conservative. Which means they fight and support their own people.
1
s h e r r y Yea, I was confused too. I mean, Asians in general are very conservative and don’t speak out much. Asians Americans are in fact the least harmful when it comes to violence or anything else. I do agree, I try to educate everyone about history and cultures, since I’m a historian :)
1
Favour Gift You’re being a bit passive. I thought I was asking simple questions...no? If you can’t give evidence, then maybe you’re the one who isn’t educated? Stating bold claims and not backing up your statements is something you should never do.

Rap is a culture that represents drugs, violence and misogyny. That's only one aspect of your culture. You shouldn't highlight and emphasize that negative aspect when I can name many postive influences that African Americans represent. And that's the problem.
1
@Jujucsc I sure have. Unfortunately, none of those are trending. Are you not aware of how toxic rap is? You should probably educate yourself and listen to newer music. But again, my point was your culture isn't just rap. Look up blues and country music, for example; even rock was inspired by African American music.
1
What do you mean by "targeted by the world"?
1
I'm genuinely curious, how is it like living in Saudi Arabia?
1
Seems like your friend is confused. Although another strange instance is geography itself when it comes to Western and Northern Asia. You have the Middle East, where I’d consider Arabs not “Asian”. Then you could argue about countries like Turkey and Russia: are they European or Asian? Or are they both? It’s very complicated. However, maps change along with history, so everything is inconsistent to begin with, therefore I don’t think there’s a true answer.

Why are Asian Americans not treated as Asian Americans? Could you explain?
1
mish I understand what you’re saying when you visited your country, however I’m confused as to why Asian Americans are not treated as Americans?
1
Ima Pineapple I see. I also do the same but I’m aware of how great the presence of Asian Americans are in North America, especially the huge Chinese influence. I’m aware of the history of Asians who emigrated to this country, of both the Chinese and Japanese in the 19th century. To be fair, nobody would ever say “European American” either, lol.
1
Nope, it’s the same with most Asian countries.
1
HindsightPOV Well, can you name some extremities? Because honestly, women in Asia are treated fairly the same in terms of their “role” as being a women. Korean women are treated the same as Japanese women when it comes to the workforce. It’s common for women in Japan to be molested on trains and young girls are exploited by older men. It’s a similar story to Korea when it comes to sexual exploitation on young women. Wouldn’t you say, objectively, the Philippines is probably the worst place for women? Divorce is illegal and domestic abuse is common?
1
HindsightPOV That’s true about the US, but exploiting females is common throughout the world. You haven’t given examples of how they’re treated worst? I mean, Korea has old ladies, known as “Bacchus Ladies” who are prostitutes. And you also have the unhealthy obsession with beauty in South Korea, which leads to a large amount of young women having plastic surgery done.
1
So who do you think help the most besides African Americans?
1
They've done something with atheists and muslims, but it wasn't good, imo.
1
It’s actually very easy to memorize continents and countries; simply go on google maps.
1
It’s not common for that to happen, you’re right.
1
Bangladesh was only formed in March 26, 1971.
1
@japaniic861 Those organizations are dead. Also, China is becoming the new empire, so it's not only "white imperialism" you have to worry about.
1
Where are your parents from? Obviously Africa is way too diverse and culturally separated from the US, so that’s why they can automatically tell you’re not a native.
1
mxd-asian1990 Calm down, lol. I know all that, that’s why I’m clarifying. Geographically speaking, North Africa is not in Western Asia.
1
@mxd-1990asn I did not mention Egypt.
1
I love the world, and Central Asia is included :) C’mon, you’ve got the Silk Road, which goes through Central Asia? Timur? The Soviet Union influences? Throat singing? Bride kidnapping? The list goes on. I’m pretty sure they have European influences left from the Russians. And don’t forget, Western Asia and Eurasia wasn’t included either :/
