  7. With assisted suicide? I definitely am. Even for mental illness, if someone wants to die, they should go without suffering. It’s already been a thing in Europe for a while now. I really wish it was convenient.

  8. You can’t control an individuals life. They’re not gonna tell how they’re gonna commit suicide, you have to think rational about this. Everyone is different, and you shouldn’t force positivity on someone who is really depressed, because that’s making it worse.

  9. I agree. I think these people are not self-aware to really understand the meaning of “suicide”. When you’re in the moment, it’s like a feeling of total nothingness. So it’s not “selfish” because that word and any other feeling is void when you try to end your life.

  14. That’s why we need true socialism. Other than that, the system is a joke. Although some individuals claim taking medication does help them. I personally couldn’t afford any of those options, so I just deal with all my problems.

  15. I think it’s annoying and repulsive. I’d rather not have to talk about it, especially if you have ignorant people who are shocked by the word “suicide”.

  16. Brimmy Burner Exactly. Why would anyone tell their loved ones? They don’t have the “power” to magically fix what they’re feeling. It’s not your fault, it’s just reality and how you can’t fix the brain.

  17. Not like many people understand anyway. It’s just awkward to hear what others think when you say you feel suicidal or utterly depressed. Not worth the time to discuss with idiots.

  18. galena97 So what’s your ideal conversation with someone who’s never had to face suicidal thoughts or has attempted suicide? You think talking an individual who is not you is going to benefit your well-being? I’ve talked to multiple individuals who have not faced any of those situations and they either react awkwardly or become apathetic. I feel like people still don’t understand unless they go through it themselves. It’s just the reality of these mental illnesses.

  19. galena97 Well, I’m glad you think so. I still have a better relationship with someone who is actually depressed and is realistic about life in general. I wouldn’t waste my time in expressing my emotions to someone who is overly positive and are generic as they come.

  20. galena97 No, everyone is different, however I relate to those who have that way of thinking. “What change”? Well, a lot. I’m taking a pragmatic approach to live life, where I accept the worst of the worst. I’ve been going on gore sites for almost a decade, and I’m also a history buff. If you accept and acknowledge the worst, you can evolve and try to solve that solution. I’m more self-aware and paranoid of life because of it, lol. Could that be viewed as “bad” thing? Sure, but I’m a smarter individual because of it. Depression is a spectrum, it’s complicated and I know that. I didn’t specifically say you were “overly positive”, It was just an example of people who are ignorant. Yep, as you clarify in your last sentence, everyone is different. I’m just saying I’d rather put my faith in someone who has more of an understanding, rather than someone who doesn’t understand and thinks they do.

  21. galena97 I was describing my philosophy on how I deal with mental illness. I already told you, I would personally adapt and evolve, which I have over the years. No, I “give up” on individuals who can’t comprehend “depression” or anything else. Have you thoroughly read these comments?
