@nugrahadwianggoro Sexual compatibility has to be top 3 emotional intimacies in a relationship, imo. If 2 out of the 3 falls apart, for example, there’s really no salvaging that relationship. What’s the other forms of intimacy? I’d say showing general affection, having rational debates, being considerate, and respect. There’s more, of course, but these are very important, at least to me.

@nonsomokwuah Where are you getting these statistics from? I’d say that’s not true at all. In fact, liberal states in the US, for example, have many agnostic/atheist individuals who have sex. The same goes for the more conservative states, where younger individuals are more likely to fall out of religion and have sex for a multitude of reasons: failure of sex-ed classes, rebellion, curiosity, etc.

You’re describing two totally different emotional intimacies: one is entirely physical and lustful with passion (ideally, at least to me), and the other is just emotional support dealing with being committed and loyal to your loved one. Being “married”, btw, is really no different than having a partner, because the same rules apply, as you already mentioned.

Shouldn’t “communication” and “consent” always be the starting point in a relationship? But I know there’s not a lot of common sense and boundaries when it comes to modern dating, so the amount of toxicity when it comes to that is not surprising.
