I live in the US, and mostly everyone is very uneducated about history, it’s atrocities, and their own government! Even in my college, I’ve talked to immigrants/transfer students who don’t know much about their own country or region. It’s very sad to see I’m more educated than the natives who live in their own country. Many individuals only become this ignorant because they’d rather use escapism than enlighten themselves about the world.

It's been like this before the pandemic, since I graduated from college and been applying for jobs, only to be hit with the pandemic. Not having enough food to eat is something I got used to long ago. Or, eating the same food such as pasta and rice doesn't bother me. You become completely numb to whatever you put into your body.

The social aspects of Japan is also very toxic: sex is not something that is openly expressed, and the workplace is often dysfunctional. Sexism is a huge issue, along with how employees are forced to go to events without having an opinion on the matter. And again, I think Asano has a lot of underappreciated works that are not talked about because of Punpun taking all the credit. As I said before, I think City of Light is better. There’s also Solanin that’s pretty good. I have watched Haibane Renmei many years ago...it’s a very calming show :) I have not read Onii-same e because I’m not a fan of Shojo, although I know it’s history. I might check it out regardless. I have read Flowers of Evil. I didn’t like it that much, but it was an interesting read, when I did read it many years ago. It's a decent read, for sure, but it's definitely not a "masterpiece" , or "hauntingly accurate"...whatever that means. The most unique aspect is, of course the birds, which puts a spin on the dysfunctional family situation. I think you should definitely read and expand your horizon with Seinen, as someone who's a historian with manga, there's been a surge of many new Seinen that have really impressed me on how it's evolved in storytelling.   349. Sloppy Toons I’ve never used clip studio, so I can’t judge on that program. I used Procreate for a while on my iPad when I brought it more than 2 years ago...I hated it. It definitely wasn’t diverse for anything comic related. Besides not having the comic format, it just felt odd to draw on, their brush selection sucked, and the transform tool didn’t work for me. Now I use an app called “Comic Draw” and it not only solved my problem, but it didn’t feel like complete ass; Procreate is a disgrace of a program for Apple, imo. The UI for Photoshop never gave me a problem, and I’ve used it for almost a decade. Like any Adobe program, they always find a way to make the new version more complicated and never solve little problems that should be solved (they’re very inconsistent in that aspect). JBstyle has pretty cool art, and I love his UI, it looks very stylistic. Some people feel more comfortable using Illustrator, I don’t, lol. Yea, for now I invested in my iPad, I don’t even use Adobe, but in the future I want to buy more shit for drawing digitally. Anyway, good look to you in the future with your art :)

Yea, we've had a ton of those (Don't Breath, Hush, Get Out) this year, and last...so it's a dying trend, imo. It's basically a limited stage-set/theater esque movie, and I think there's a ton of better psychological thrillers out there. But the Emancipation Proclamation didn’t apply to the border states anyway, Lincoln didn’t want to provoke them because they didn’t secede. So what? The North liberated many regions.

This lady is saying we need more Asian representation that doesn’t include stereotypes, but I mean, that could be said for Native, Hispanic, or African American movies as well. And it’s biased to ignore all the Asian American movies that are more realistic in terms of the Asian culture in the US, specifically independent movies.

I’m just saying we saying we need to do a better job of representing both sides of the spectrum, talking more of independent films by Asian Americans. The “drama” is that none of the “political” side matters, when diverse actors should be playing in a fictional movie, if it’s not based in a historical context.

The best option is to become a statehood, but it would have to go through Congress and all types of shit. The people of Puerto Rico have to support that vote, which I think a lot of them do. Anyway, you’re in indefinite limbo until a miracle happens, and the future is still murky...so yea.

If you look at history, capitalism prevails and the natives go near extinct. Look at what happened to Native Americans. They got pushed into shit reservations and most of them are alcoholics. Again, investors only care about your pretty islands. Without that, you’re mostly nothing. The natives eventually get smaller and are driven out by gentrification. I’m sure you won’t become a statehood anytime soon, so be rest assured.
