Mari Boo I already know your history. I’m sure your fate would’ve been the same as the rest of the Caribbean: poor and reliant on tourism. The only difference is the US gives you loans if you need it. And look what that did, lol, made you go into more debt.
3
You’re clearly delusional, lol.
2
Mari Boo You had a chance to become a republic long ago. The Philippines and Cuba became independent counties after the Spanish-American war. You’ve gotta realize that it’s too late to do anything, because you’re in too much debt to have an opinion. The complete truth: you guys were always inferior when it came to having an opinion, the US had too much free reign in controlling your economy. It’s a fucked reality, but it’s impossible to have any positive outcome. You’ll always remain part of the US, unfortunately.
2
Exactly. At least they aren’t smart enough and can live in their fantasy world of “hope” XD
1
Rigo Fernandez I appreciate the compliment. I’ve said in the other post that you don’t have any legit solutions. Look at your 74 billion debt and tell me if you can think of a solution?
1
Mari Boo I’m not blaming anyone. So you’re saying you’d be in a better position right now? I highly doubt that, lol.
1
Mari Boo That’s why I said you were always weak when having an opinion. “Freedom” doesn’t mean shit and you know it! Being an independent state will make your island even worse than it is now. It doesn’t make sense. I’m being a realist, your island is fucked either way. It’s only used for tourism, just like the other surrounding islands. You’re all third world countries, let’s be honest here. You have nothing to offer except your resorts and other cheap items that Europeans can easily buy.
1
Erok Da1 Lmao, that was centuries ago. Until you guys kept getting enslaved by different Europeans, and you guys helped the US fight the Spaniards. How else do you want me to phrase it? It’s a tiny island, lol, of course you guys are pathetic and weak, has been since the beginning. I’m not comparing any complexities between the two, I’m simply saying the US is a giant and you’re an insect. It’s just reality. I never said anything about you having a chance? You really need to calm down, lol. Using petty insults when you’re helpless...it’s ok, I pity you guys. You guys never had a military? I don’t know what you’re implying with those states, something to do with the Mexican-American war?
1
Rigo Fernandez I never said any of that? You’re obviously insecure and upset, lol. Yes, and the same goes for native Americans, they also helped with coding for both world wars. You do have benefits? Since you’re owned by us, you can come to the US without any problems. But you can’t vote because you’re not part of the states.
1
Erok Da1 lmao, dude, I was born in the US? And what’s the point of insulting? There is no point.
1
Erok Da1 What’s your point? We get it, nowhere is completely safe, and that applies to the world. Unless you wanna live in isolation, which doesn’t sound like a bad idea. My point was that Puerto Rico is in a massive debt that no governor can handle or fix. Y’all can’t become independent, that’s completely inane. The best option is to become a statehood, but it would have to go through Congress and all types of shit. The people of Puerto Rico have to support that vote, which I think a lot of them do. Anyway, you’re in indefinite limbo until a miracle happens, and the future is still murky...so yea.
1
Erok Da1 I think it’s sad your nationalism is clouding your judgement. I wanted to say before spamming me with inconsistent comments, is that Latin America is worse off than the US, only because their economy is based of tourism or major corruption. Look at the GDP...it’s all facts. Mexico has nothing to do with Puerto Rico in this conversation. Indeed, there is poverty in the US, but that should be already clear...it’s common sense. Still, it doesn’t change anything with how the fate of islands are inferior and easily manipulated. You need to educate yourself before getting angry over your pride. I am also Puerto Rican. I hate the US and I could rant about it all day. But all the evidence is transparent and you want to ignore it? Fine. I’m just trying to educate and enlighten you.

Briana Briana I completely agree with you. I don’t think the people are truly aware of their status. They wave their flag around like it’s something to be proud of...so maybe they truly don’t want liberty? Anyway, I’ve said all that I could about the country.
1
Briana Briana Oh, and I can’t see your other comment? If you tried to edit the comment it won’t be visible, because YouTube is idiotic.

Erok Da1 I can’t see your comment. You can’t edit the comment or it won’t be visible. Try to copy/paste the comment again without editing.

Mari Boo If you don’t want to die, lol, you should probably move to another country...preferably bigger. Hawaii has a very similar story to how they became a statehood. If you look at history, capitalism prevails and the natives go near extinct. Look at what happened to Native Americans. They got pushed into shit reservations and most of them are alcoholics. Again, investors only care about your pretty islands. Without that, you’re mostly nothing. The natives eventually get smaller and are driven out by gentrification. I’m sure you won’t become a statehood anytime soon, so be rest assured.

It’s never gonna “great”. But you know, you could keep dreaming.
