I’m not saying you’re wrong, but the judgmental “bias” of looking at your patient who looks radiant and joyful has always been common when it comes to doctors. They probably think you’re overreacting and are not really sick. It’s very immature and unprofessional to suggest such a thing, nonetheless.

I’m sure anyone with a “rare” disease is going through these same exact problems...I’ve seen it. Literally look up the other video on this channel, the women is “white” and she’s dealing with the same shit.

  5. Sonia Helen Ponce I already know that? Why would you bring up Canada’s healthcare system if this is about the US? I brought up health insurance because a shit ton of people can’t afford it, so they’re left with a ton of bills in case of an emergency. I’m not interested in Canada, although I’ve looked into their healthcare system before.

I’m not hating on any race, but I do know there’s racism and other shit going on everywhere. “Systematic racism” for looking pretty? I don’t know about that...I don’t think it’s necessarily “racism”. More of the fact that she looks healthy and pretty, the doctors think she isn’t that sick. And as I said, it’s stupid.

Not saying having support won’t help you in these situations. Yea, it could be racism or being a female, but I’m looking at the big picture, which is the the “rare disease”. It’s a very complicated and enduring commitment to find some relieve from the pain. This is what I understood from the documentaries: Afflicted and Unrest. Check them out if you can, they’re interesting.

  11. Mandi Salmela I’m sorry to hear that. Why didn’t the doctors look at your family history? Or did they ignore it? Isn’t that weird that women are treated less than men when it comes to pain, yet they deal with their menstrual cycle and birthing a human from their vagina? I just find that odd. I am a male and I can take tons of pain, but maybe because of a lot traumatic events that I’ve become adjusted and comforted by pain. I’m curious, do you think females are more sensitive to pain than men? For instance, my sister would literally scream at the top of her lungs when she was in any type of pain XD My brother isn’t that bad, but he is also sensitive to pain. I think doctors are unprofessional and lazy when it comes to their patients complaining about something they can’t find, so they make up an excuse. What I truly think, though, is that doctors, or anyone in the medical field can’t understand our own bodies. From what I’ve seen and what I’ve experienced, I feel like that’s the major issue.

  12. Golden Carter Yep, look up Shalon Irving. She didn’t have good healthcare and went to a stupid doctor who misdiagnosed her. She ended up dead because of that. Instead, she should’ve went with her instinct and found a hospital that could care for her symptoms. This was in Baltimore, which is a very poor city. Race, gender, doctors...there’s many inconveniences if you’re seriously in need of help, but nobody can help you. Serena Williams situation was unprofessional. The staff didn’t believe her? What kind of hospital was that, lol. I’m not gonna say it was “racism”, since maybe the staff was diverse...but still stupid. Again with not believing past history injuries? Something odd was going on there.

Bad healthcare mixed with poverty...that’s not good. Is racism involved? Most likely. Quacks who don’t care about their patients because they can’t afford health insurance? Surely. I was never talking about race, it’s mostly about the individual having a “rare disease”...and that makes matters more complicated. Not all doctors are legit. Capitalism rules this country, so if you go to a shit doctor, you’re fucked. If there’s an emergency, try to find a good hospital, don’t go to a shit doctor who doesn’t care about your life.

The caste system is still relevant in poor states/villages. Women in Korea and Japan don't get treated that well, either.   25. Mary Smith James I’m sure racism is worse for blacks in certain areas, like in the south, for example. Puerto Ricans are of mixed-race, but they’re not full European either, same with the rest of Latin America, they’re all mestizo. And Asia is definitely a race of different ethnicities.

I never said anyone is 100% taino (there’s obviously individuals who have more native DNA in Puerto Rico). However, they’re still mixed, and there’s still indigenous tribes left in Latin America. I’m not denying Africans, we aren’t talking about Latin American countries that have Africans. Stop assuming and going on tangents about other topics. I never said the tribes spoke Spanish, but I’m sure some do.
