Andrew Adams It’s not. I’ve been playing online for over a decade.

Andrew Adams Same for me. I’m not “dismissing” anything. It’s the internet, which means toxicity is common, and it’s very common in mainstream games. I doubt you’ve been playing that long if you don’t understand that insults, screaming, whining, spamming, etc, is common in the online community.

I disagree that it’s worse for women. Girls can also have a lobby where there’s tons of guys who try to “flirt” and help the girl in a match win. It can really go either way, but both genders face the same discrimination. Of course, girls are more sensitive to “online trolls” because they don’t play online often as much as the males.
8
PITUFO Vergudo I doubt he’s played more than a year of playing online.
8
Andrew Adams No, because you’re forgetting the other perspective of a female gamer, which is getting attention from the males who love to flirt and stalk the female throughout the match. Again, there’s no “separation”, when a male gamer can get the same amount of harassment. You’re clearly lying about your time online, when I’ve played dozens of games online and have seen all sides.
8
Andrew Adams This, right here, is more evidence suggesting you don’t know how games work. Animal Crossing is diversified because females love chill games that offer customization, while male dominated games are often more competitive.
8
Andrew Adams I’ve been playing games since I was a literal child too. Back in the late 90s, playing Tetris, or Mario on the SNES. You obviously don’t know all the details, so I can’t take your perspective seriously.
7
That’s not how the internet, or online gaming works. Mute the player or quit online games, lol.
6
Andrew Adams If you’re playing an old multiplayer game, you’re going to face less immaturity, because that’s when the loyal fanbase comes in. Of course, playing a newer game that’s relevant, is when the trolls and kids come out to play. Playing a ranked vs casual game is also different in terms of people who play seriously and don’t troll as much.
6
Victor P. That’s an ignorant statement. What games do you play online? How many years of playing online have you got?
2
Thank you, lol. There’s a lot of ignorant gamers who’ve never played enough games, or been on long enough to have a factual opinion about the online community.
2
It’s really sad how these people aren’t educated about how games work. They’ve never seen the “mute” button before, or played a rank game where you find less trolls and more maturity. Obviously mainstream games are already prone to way more toxicity than a more irrelevant multiplayer game.
2
This video is biased and pathetic. I’ve been playing online for almost a decade. Whoever is complaining about the “toxic” environment is someone who is illiterate when it comes to the online community. You might as well get the perspective of males playing the game, because they also face discrimination and insults all the time.
2
Sure, lol. These “developers” might as well ban the majority of gamers because most of them are toxic. What you’re asking for is the total removal of free speech in chat, or in that case, chats in general. Use the “mute” button, or quit online games forever; that’s your ultimatum.

@TheAtomicRedhead You've never played an online game in your life if you really feel that way. Trash talk and trolling is how online games work. You could easily mute them, as I said. Again, it's "free speech" unless you get rid of that feature altogether. You could also report the player, however I never did because it's not worth it.

Ghost Great argument! Informative and riveting!
1
Victor P. Did you not read my comment when I said “both genders face the same discrimination”? As a male gamer, I’ve been called every insult in the book. Again, there’s no difference.
1
@deenz718 I never said it was. However, at least it's not toxicity.
1
@ayingchanda What game is your little sister playing? You should mute those players and tell her not to speak online. Kids in general shouldn't be chatting online.
1
i hate facemask Yep, they’ve always been like that. But as you said, there are times where you meet decent players who are nice, who end up becoming your friends.
1
I’ve been playing games all my life too. You can’t stop online harassment/toxicity. You have either mute the trolls, play rank, or play with friends on a party chat. Not all lobbies and games are exactly the same, however: you’re going to find decent players every so often, who end up being your friend.
1
Exactly. Veteran gamers easily get this fact.
1
I’ve played online more than a decade. I did the same, but there are some lobbies where I didn’t encounter toxicity and made friends. Especially if you play rank games, you have more chill, mature players who don’t act like animals. Plus, every genre has its own type of community who act or play differently.
1
Stephzilla Well, I rarely played with a team, instead it was usually solo or with a friend. Sometimes too, I would embrace the trolling culture and be in on the fun, or say something stupid because of boredom. Nowadays I don’t play online, lol, I just play campaign games. I think since I’m 25 (about to be 26) I’m more relaxed and want a chill experience.
