@cashewisnotanut4409 Because of curiosity and a wake up call to reality; you need that every now and then. Most people don't know anything about how reality works, so gore videos show actual show real life and suffering in all things.

@perculated7666 Mental health. You become desensitized, and fall into a depression (at least I did) very quickly once you see a few different videos. I also developed a type of paranoia, for instance, always looking behind me while walking to see if anyone is by me, or being sensitive to people who are running by me. Also, being cautious of people with hoodies or anything that covers their face.

@lramos8966 Sadly. There was others, too, that had a similar name, like “one guy one jar”, and that same person made “one guy one screwdriver”. There were so many that were trending, that my generation actually remembers all those videos. The iconic “one guy one horse” was mentioned for quite a while…

@Red-yk7qk Most of these videos could be circulating on any platform. Facebook was one of the biggest providers, and still is. It's really just pure curiosity and coincidence. Just because I started watching those videos years ago, doesn't mean I still do. You literally can't stomach those videos for long, and I have morals to stop myself from watching certain content. It started off with "2 Girls One Cup", then it just spirals out of control. A ton of these videos were trending years ago when I started watching them, in fact.

@hr8839 I'm not at all, actually. Those videos did enlighten me, as I was a very sheltered child. Those who practice in the medical field, especially surgeons, are automatically desensitized because it's their livelihood. You're not making sense, even though you claim to be in the medical field. Also, telling me I need "meds"? You sound very immature for your age.

@Red-yk7qk Most people can’t deal with it, and that’s totally normal. At the beginning I couldn’t really watch it, then slowly I watched more and got desensitized, so now nothing really bothers me in terms of seeing the human body at it’s worst. I don’t regret getting myself into all these videos, because I have a better understanding of reality, as I said before. It shaped my interests as an individual, since I’m attracted to anything “dark” and “realistic” when it comes to comics or cinema, for example.

@user-cf2xi5wd2d I have PTSD and trauma besides gore videos. And I do get what you mean, but it’s too late for me, obviously. I’m not gonna watch anything any time soon, because I’m lazy, lol. What do you mean by using someone’s horror for “personal benefit”? As I said before, I don’t regret watching all these videos, because it helped me gain an enlightenment of “true evil” and I developed an appreciation of life, even though anything can still happen to me. Should people watch these videos to gain a better perspective of the “darker” aspects of life? I think so. But we all have differing opinions.

@kokokat584 Dark and deep web have nothing to do with that. Shock sites have been publicly accessible for over a decade now.

@mothyhtx You've been watching too much of Serbian Film, sweetheart. Not cool to assume I'm a sociopath/psychopath. I fell into shock sites by accident like most people. Most of it was circulating on Facebook and 4Chan years ago, and now they have subreddits dedicated to gore.

@givemefreedom2359 I’ve never used that platform, but they get on most social media platforms. YouTube had and still has similar content to that of a shock site, it’s just very subtle. The dark and deep web doesn’t have any gore, I don’t know why everyone is getting them confused. It’s literally called “shock sites”, and has nothing to do with the dark or deep web. To clarify the difference: the “dark web” is mostly made up of scammers and illegal activity. For example, there’s alleged hitman who try to get vulnerable/desperate individuals to pay them in bitcoin, to actually “assassinate” someone. The FBI usually tries to infiltrate (or pose as the hitman) these “conversations” that go on in these forums. Besides that, it’s made up of “conspiracy theories” that are written by individuals who are misinformed about so-called conspiracy theories. And also, the infamous “red room” that has been debunked many times, where supposedly gruesome torture videos are being live-streamed to a client. Other things include the “Silk Road” for drugs, weapons, p0rn, etc. You need specific steps to access the “dark web”, but anyone can do it. The “deep web” is literally just private information about anything that’s, well…private.

@TaserT0t At the time I viewed these specific sites many years ago, they were trending, and my curiosity got the best of me. Doesn’t mean I watched absolutely everything, since I do have morals and boundaries with such content. Watching some of these videos still helped me understand the human psyche and how animalistic we truly are. It’s like how I would tell anyone who is interested in war to watch the short Holocaust video depicting the aftermath of a major concentration camp after it was liberated by the Americans.
