Its because you didn't know how to use Acronis. I used it for years on several computer and it worked perfectly. You are supposed to use a USB or a CD-rom and tell your BIOS to boot from there. Then it works as intended. Its both fast and reliable.

@glasslinger Exactly. Would love to go back to Acronis, but don't want to pay for it. Looking for some free solutions now.

@veganath Has nothing to do with making an image of your hard disk like Acronis does. The entire idea behind a disk image is that after you spend many hours finetuning your fresh windows install, plus extra needed software, then you do the image of the entire hard disk. Later when your operating system becomes sluggish cause of malware or other problems, you can revert to that optimal and fast operating system and c:drive configuration you once had in just minutes. When I was using Acronis, I could recreate my windows and everything on the c: drive in just 7 minutes.

@veganath Alright. I tried to use windows backup right after a fresh install of win 10 and it wouldn't work. So I kind of don't trust it like the guy in the video. I might just pay the annual fee and go back to Acronis. I used it for years on my two computers plus friends and family without a single problem. Worked perfectly.

@glasslinger But does Samsung Data Migration do an image or a clone of your HD like Acronis does? I found an old copy of Acronis 2010, and it still works just fine. I'm gonna stick to that since I know it so well.

@glasslinger Alright. Sounds good. I'll take a look at it. Cheers.

Obviously you will be taking chances on win 10 and 11 with a program that belonged to win 7 technology which also has been discontinued.

Cause then it becomes to obvious that they want you to use Onedrive, cloud technology and all that kind of crap.
