  20. Hardly seismic in the UK - Labour only got in because a) people were fed up of 14 years of the Tories, and b) Starmer has turned the Labour party in a conservative one. That's how Blair got elected, so Starmer has learned from the past. Let's hope his Chancellor isn't as incompetent as "the son of the manse".

  34. The reason Starmer got elected wasn't because he was more left, it was because the country was fed up of 14 years of the Tories. Labour's vote didn't go up from when they were defeated at the last election, and Starmer got rid of the leftist elements when he became leader or he knew he wouldn't stand a chance of winning, just like Bliar and Brown did.
