@thedopplereffect00 And don't have garages handy.

It's paying for the free advertising now, though!

Wow! I thought I was good at stereotyping people but this is way beyond my league.

@IslaSprollie The issue isn't how many EV fires versus ICEV fires - it's the consequences of them. ICEV fire - put out in a few minutes. EV fire - stand around in full hazmat gear until the battery burns itself out - they aren't easily extinguishable (if at all). And of course, you really don't want to be breathing in any of the toxins from that battery. Low probability, high consequence. Ask a firefighter which they'd sooner deal with. And an EV fire doesn't even have to be started by itself, it might be parked next to a raging ICEV, try putting them both out together!

@i_grok_u2902 And when you've bought it, who's to say EJ won't slash prices again the next day?

But you do have to return them with a certain level of charge - you can "fully charge" a gas car in 5 minutes.

I saw someone the other day saying they knew of a guy who has a lifetime free supercharger card so drives to the superchargers, gets his wife to pick him up (in her gas car) and then take him back there when the car is charged. So two unnecessary gas car journeys to be "green". Very sustainable.

Because it's awful?

If you haven't gone bankrupt during the learning phase.

Or replacing batteries damaged in accidents. Assuming they don't catch fire and suffer thermal runaway. We need something that isn't a fire hazard for batteries.

It's not good PR to publicly demonstrate your lack of financial good sense.

Maintenance and repairs are not the same. Do try to keep up.

He's already sold his customers down the river by slashing his prices so existing cars lose most of their value overnight.
1
They price them high to make them attractive to people with more money than sense. EVs are a vanity, virtue signalling, purchase.
1
It's a problem for the current customers who've just seen their "investment" plummet overnight.

But no plug=in hybrids, they're awful - the worst of both worlds.
