  2. On almost every metric, the minivan is better. Cargo space, fuel economy, ease of driving… if you don’t live on a dirt road in a place like Vermont, and you buy this instead of a sienna, you’re a sucker.

  12. @Johnny Red put Blizzak snow tires on that Sienna and it will be a fine ski vehicle for the winter. Enough space to sleep in, too! Clearance is really only an issue come mud season, and only on the east coast.

  15. It really sucks to see how badly Ford blew it on this thing. At $20k it had some real potential. But $32k, for less towing capacity than a Subaru Outback?! Gtfo. Also what’s the point of a 4 foot bed? I can’t even fit skis in this damn thing. Should’ve been a 2 seater with a six foot bed instead.

  16. If anything, EVs and hybrids are much simpler mechanically than modern ICE cars. For a canned example, the Prius eCVT has only 20 parts and is probably the most reliable car part ever manufactured. The complexity is all in figuring out how to make a legacy four-banger engine meet modern regulations. Everyone but Toyota gave up on cars 4+ years ago. Before the rona or the chip shortage. Detroit’s only still in the game because of the CAFE SUV loophole. Those dinosaurs better not get another bailout. Let them die. GM had the Volt, probably the most reliable car they’ve ever made, and they killed it off, in their infinite wisdom. Gave us the Bolt instead, and an annual spontaneous combustion rate of at least 0.1%. Nightmare stuff. The industry turned off chip production to juice Q2 2020 results, and now they can’t keep up with demand. Chip fabs take years and billions to retool. This is all the automakers’ fault. Even the ones that did the right thing (Toyota) are now backlogged because the overall market supply is so broken. You want to blame govt regulations. I blame Jack Welch. This short term mindset and financial engineering has ruined so many once-great American companies. It’s the main reason why we’re not a superpower anymore. Our military will take twenty years to replace what we’ve already given ukraine at current production levels. It’s a joke.

  17. I just don’t get the point of these three row crossovers. Just get a Sienna ffs. The handful of people that live in places with a mud season, that need the extra clearance, are already well served by Subaru. This thing is inferior to a minivan in almost every possible way.
