Everyone who earns a living from a paycheck benefits from these restrictions on monopsony power. If this were a zero sum game, then investors would be the losers, but California proves that it isn’t. More competition grows the whole pie in a market based economy. The only losers here, then, are rent-seeking oligarchs. Good for nothing racketeers, masquerading as legitimate businessmen.
